Apparently, everyone I have known in the past that has caught up with me here on FB is a liberal. I really thought I was the lone Conservative out there. Thank God I am not! I can't really even speak with these people as I have nothing in common with them. They are caught up in all the hype. My friend told me today they either have or are coming out with the Malia Obama beanie baby... What's next!?! I think we should stick together and if you think that as well, please request me as a friend...

Nancy Beck-Newell from Reno NV.. Thanks :)

BOY, I hear ya... why is it such a dirty word to be conservative these days??? Things are a changing. I put a link to the Obama abortion bill and a few of my old friends wrote some choice things on there. I did not even really say much, but I did say I was not in favor of it. Is Obama a God to some ppl or what??? He seems to have celebrity like status and that scares me. I will stand behind him and pray for him, but he had better get it together. God bless all you conservatives... great to see ya!!! XO

I'm new here so I'm not sure how to add you yet, but I would be happy to be friends.  I agree with everyone else on here, to be a conservative woman these days is like a sin.  I am a black woman living in Maryland, and I tell you we get no respect at all.  Even my family and extended family think I should be locked up.  But I think it is great that there are people who have the same values that I do, and don't feel like you have to be mindless, Obama worshipping idiots.  I thought we lived in America where we have the right to have our own opinions.  Anyway...Glad to meet ya. ^o^

Absolutly!!!! The media wants to hush "us" conservatives. They want people to think we are not out there, and I truly think this is the devil at work in this country. We need to stick together and let the media and the rest of country know that we are out there and we will be heard, even if it means we have to scream it....lol!!!

I said something similar to this to one of my like-minded friends just yesterday. I've enjoyed hooking up with old friends and extended family, but I'm finding that too many of them are Democrats. Like you, I just don't feel like I have much to talk to them about. I'm disgusted by all of this Obama-mania. I was feeling really lonely, too. What a breathe of fresh air to find this group!

Yay! I found a place for me! I'm generally a middle of the road person, but I still feel drawn to the right. I have a bunch of crazy Obama Mamma friends, but I expect them to be eating humble pie soon enough with Obama and his weird friends in charge.

Valerie,  Did you know it is only a right if you agree with them?:):)  That's what it feels like anyway.

I am having hope with this community, but it is still so frustrating not feeling like I am doing anything but I guess just like your vote does count, so does your comments to your representatives.  Hopefully, we are not the only ones across this country letting our representatives know and overwhelming... Actually I pretty sure that is the case will the republicans and 11 democrats saying no to the PORK stimulus bill.  Oh, by the way shouldn't everything have been solved by now because he was going to be our Savior?  That was my impression.

Hi there! Like the rest of you I have felt like the Lone Ranger among my friends. Most of them are liberals. I am a teacher and it is a notoriously liberal profession. I am proud to say that 80% of my site is Republican. We have been studying politics all year and focused a lot on the election. We recently watched the inauguration and one of my students said, "How does Obama think he's going to get everything he's promising done?"That question really struck me as astute. I didn't quite know what to say without getting myself in a heap of trouble. (My students have no idea what my political views are.) After this election I felt that the Republican party was a dying breed...after talking with my student I thought maybe it's not! Maybe there is hope for us yet.

Isn't that amazing how closed-minded the Obama supporters can be? I am not suprised your friend would stop communicating with you because you're a Rush fan. It happens to me all the time. It's interesting though because your pro-Obama friend most likely doesn't know a lot about him or his policies and more than likely does agree with you on many things they just are brainwashed into believing they know more than us ludite Conservatives. How frustring!!

NH has slowly started shifting to the left in recent years. It's because we got the MA people moving up here. In 2004 we were a blue state.

And just like the comment about Utah becoming more liberal...the liberal states tend to FAIL, so they go to a conservative state that is doing well, and well....as an analogy...contaminate the "good waters".  Perhaps that is more-so for Calif. movers.  I am not as well versed on how the NE states are doing.  I live in the Midwest, but I have also lived in SoCA and NYC.  I left CA right before housing values started to drop.  I could see that they were going to be in trouble soon with the way that the prices were escalating and people were buying anyway. (Buyer defines the value) and they were doing it with 100% loans or interest only loans.  It was a nice mix of greed and ignorance.

Being conservative is the only way to go.  Do any of you listen to Rush Limbaugh or Shawn Hennety (spelling?) on conservative talk radio? It is AM760 in Detroit area.  He is so right on and funny.   His audience size lets you know that you are one of the millions who have conservative values.  Keep fighting the good fight.  This blind following of a "community organizer " scares me.  It makes me realize how Hitler got all his power.  We need to support each other. I agree.  Too many people are giving into the "group" mentality.  It scares me when people are not allowed to disagree with our gov. leader or to question him on things he says and does.  I pray every day for America.

I agree Kathie...I have a friend who is very pro-Obama and when she found out I joined the Rush Limbaugh fan group she stopped communicating with me.  Sad.    I do not apologize for my views, though.

[deleted account]

Hi Nancy...I can totally relate.  Nearly all my friends are liberals, even my own family!   I think the fact that Obama's part black overshadowed his really radical policies and viewpoints and that's very dangerous.   He's very charming and it's easy to win over people when you have a silver tongue.  I wouldn't know...I have a hard time expressing my ideas but I CAN tell right from wrong.

And I am always willing to listen to what she has to say. I drew the line when a friend of hers I did not know insulted anyone who would not vote for Obama. I called her on it and she apologized.

  Hey Christine,

Believe it or not a friend of mine who lives in Chicago, a Jewish guy, who usually votes democrat, voted for John McCain.  He did a little investigating, and I sort of nudged him to look at what I found, he realized what a corrupt thug Obama was and voted for McCain.  One thing he couldn't believe what the born alive act that Obama voted in favor of, he just couldn't shake that one.

There are a few other conservatives in your part of the woods, I guess you have to weed them out.

I'm SO GLAD to have found this group! I hope it gets really big so I don't feel so alone.

Try being from California!!! I feel like I lost my Freedom of Speech on Tuesday -well, maybe during the election. I just felt like I couldn't handle hearing all of the Obama Zombies spew their rhetoric without saying something, and I didn't want to lose friendships over it. Hence, the loss of freedom of speech. I basically sat at home all day on Tuesday, avoiding everyone, except for a phone call to my one SAHM Republican friend. We anticipate spending a lot more time together while the O Zombies walk around in their giddy daze.

You're right about liberals being hypocrites -always talking about accepting everyone no matter what their beliefs, race, etc, but ONLY IF YOU AGREE WITH THEM! I got the biggest dose of that when we lived next to Berkeley. And they get so angry if you don't agree with them; it's ridiculous! Not AS bad now that we've moved to the SF Peninsula but still very liberal here in the Bay Area. :(

You lived near Berkeley? Wow, talk about being tohe wolf in sheep's clothing!

I lived in VT as a child, so that was not my choice. For some reason I remembered the town I was living in (Brattleboro, now famous for its incients of naked people running around because the state has no nudity ordinance) being more conservative when I was growing up -- a music teacher at my elementary school was "let go" (I don't know if he resigned or if he was officially fired) because some kids said they spotted him coming out of a location known for being a gay bar in town, and we had a porno shop run out of downtown because of complaints.

I guess what I am is just exausted. I'm so tired of all the hype and the whole "walking on water" that his flock thinks he can do. When do we start hearing about the healings he will do on people? When will he cure cancer and AIDS? It's so obvious that this whole administration is getting free passes left and right from the press. At least I could admit if I didn't agree once and awhile with George Bush. Libreals don't understand that. They will never admit to any wrong doings or admit any decision is wrong. Today at work I was able to put such a liberal in her place. During the election she complained  about Sarah Palin for her lack of foreign affairs experience. We went round and round about that. Today she said her daughter was nervous about Obama's lack of experience with the same issue. She then made an excuse that he has lots of people in his cabnet to help him with that. WHAT!!!  I'm sorry, but I just layed into her. After I ranted for a good 10 min she had nothing to say. She simply walked away. I don't get that! It's mind blowing if you really think about it. His Press Sec sounds like a total moron...Anyone else think so?

RE: Jen's comment: "It's an odd feeling to be like the odd man out when I think I'm just highly "normal" with my thinking..." To me, I see it as a sign of the times - where you can rarely find common sense anymore (like, why are we still debating on the beginning of life?? Is everyone THAT stupid??).

But it shouldn't surprise us, I guess....

"The wrath of God is indeed being revealed from heaven against every impiety and wickedness of those who suppress the truth by their wickedness... Instead, they became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless minds were darkened. While claming to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for the likeness of an image of mortal man or of birds or of four-legged animals or snakes..... Although they know the just decree of God that all who practice such things deserve death, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them." Romans 1:18,21-23, 32

It's an odd feeling to be like the odd man out when I think I'm just highly "normal" with my thinking: limited government, traditional values, self reliance, you know the rest. I need friends too!!
