Shana, that is awesome that your son stood up in his class for what he believes... What a well rounded 11 year old you have.... You should be so proud. I hope that when my children grow up that I will have taught them well enough that they too will stand up for what they believe even if it wont be popular. I just love this site... And I too enjoy reading all of your stories.... It lifts me up during the day to know that we are all out there making differences even if we don't see the effects on TV..... People are so blind to what Obama is doing.... It is a little crazy all the things he has already done and he hasn't even been in the white house very long.... All the things he has changed regarding abortions is saddening.... I really hope he does fail. If he does all that he wants to accomplish I don't think there will be much of the country that we love so much still in place when he is finished in four years.....

I am new to this group, but I am so glad that I found it!  As a Minnesota mom, I often feel alone in my beliefs – especially now with Al Franken possibly becoming our new senator.  I am so proud of Priscilla and what you did for your child and what I’m sure that did for other children in her class that don’t believe in what Obama stands for yet are afraid to stand up to their believes.  I have an 11 year old that often gets frustrated in school because of his teacher’s obsession with Obama.  A few weeks ago, one of his classmates told him that if he didn’t like Obama, then he didn’t like America, to which he finally lost it, he stood up in his class and told his teacher that he had enough of her trying to influence everyone’s political beliefs!  lol  His teacher then replied to him that he obviously didn’t understand the significance of what Obama has accomplished and that he will forever remember this moment that he was in her classroom during such a momentous occasion…my spunky little boy shot back with what he will remember is that some random teacher overstepped herself with trying to force her views on others and that he stood up for what it really means to be an American!

& Shauna, I love your post about being proud no matter who’s in the white house, which is exactly how I feel!  I DO hope that Obama does well, or at least not fail completely and utterly, because that’s what’s best for our country and I can put that before my wants, but that doesn't stop me from believing that his policies will have to change in order for that to happen.  I think that is one of the main things that separate the parties.  I don’t want Obama to fail personally, yet the witch hunt for Bush continues on, even now that he’s out of office.

Anyway, sorry to ramble…I love reading everyone’s stories and it definitely makes me feel secure in that Conservatism is not dead as the media would like us to believe and I take heart that in four years, there will be a new day!

I spent a month prior to election day reading and arguing on yahoo about dem/rep. It is wonderful to find a place to just talk and share views. The media is the one to blame - no doubt. The media sold us out. I just can't figure it out...I can figure out why so many people bought into Obama's lies and the media's BS! I do not feel safe with Obama as our pres. I would probably benefit from his tax plan, but I don't feel that it what is best for my family and the U.S. The bank bailout was BS, we should've let them go under...that is what happens when you give money to people who have ok credit, but no means to repay the loan. ANd now we have this new Economic Stimulus!!!??? Taxpayers paying themselves a small lump sum so we can what? Go out and buy a new tv or computer or some other gadget? How is that stumulating OUR economy?? How about giving us enough money to go buy a new car at GM? Or enough for a down payment on a new house? That would be stimulating!!

OOPS, sorry for rambling! I didn't have anyone cutting me off, like I normally do! LOL

Jen, love the B.O. comment. My husband and I have often thought of that. In fact my husband, who is a graphic designer, wants to design a t-shirt that has a stick of deodorant on one side and just say no to B.O with Obama's face on the other side.

As for the comment about lies and deceit, I am with you on that all the way. I live in the great corrupt state of Illinois and have watched him and many other democrats ruin our state. We are in so much trouble right now it isn't even funny. I honestly don't know how people who live in Illinois could vote for him. He was elected to be our senator and did nothing in Washington to represent our state. As soon as he got there he began his run for the presidency and forgot about the state he left behind. He did nothing to try and end the corruption that is going on here because he didn't want to stain his record in his bid for the white house. Notice how he voted present on just about every issue once he got to Washington. He didn't want voters to know how truly liberal he is because then he wouldn't have gotten the votes that he did. I pray for this nation. I don't think many people truly realize how badly he could hurt us. He doesn't want freedom and liberty. He wants socialism. God help us.

Oh I am so glad to have found this forum and this particular post!  It's incredible to read what you all have written - it's all the things I've been saying/thinking/doing myself!  It is sooo nice to see that there are other conservative ladies out there, especially on FB!  :)  It is so good to read some common sense!

I have been calling my representatives and sending emails, asking them to stand strong against Obama and the Dems.  Even if some horrendous bill passes (like the 'stimulus' package) at least it's on record that the Republicans were against it and WHEN it fails, it's all on the Dem's plates!  I urge you to do the same, even if you live in a blue state (which I do now, sadly, NC went blue this time around, I was shocked).  Let our representatives hear your voice.  Remember, they work for us!

And a little off topic, but we recently got rid of cable because we are trying to live as simply as possible and save as much money as we can.  Who knows where this economy is going to go!  Anyway, the only channels we really watched were Fox News and Noggin.  The other night my husband was flipping channels and somehow we are getting Noggin through our antenna!!  I have no idea how that works, but if you're thinking about ditching cable and you have a newer TV with a built-in digital receiver, unplug the cable and see how many channels you get, you will be surprised.

So glad to have found this forum! I sit at home and watch Fox News all day and get so angry at how the country just ignores the truth about the economy and our leaders. A democratic Congress and President? We are in trouble. I just pray that 4 years of unrestricted government spending and no ethics will wake up the country and the pendulum will swing back to small government and leaders with ethics!

Priscilla,  I am so glad to hear that you stood up to the school and teacher about the letter. I worry that most people wouldn't. Listening to the comments has given me a sense of pride for my country and I hope that we can come back from the mess that Obama is going to make in the next four years... I do hope that we can have a good president like Reagan after this mess is over.... I hope our country is still standing after the four years is up. I still just can't believe that Obama got elected it is like a horrible nightmare.... I am glad I can come here and voice my opinions... did any of you see The View yesterday(Monday)? I caught the last 10 minutes by accident and they had John Zlegler on who is a documentary film maker who is making a film called Media Malpractice: How Obama Got Elected and Palin was Targeted. I was shocked and saddened by the way it was handled on the show of course... But the film itself looks like it would be interesting... Joy from the View went a little nuts with Elisabeth. Yelling and such at her. Although I have noticed that arguing with plenty of liberals myself that they always stoop to yelling because their arguments can't hold up.....

I am originally from VA but have lived in NC since I was 12.  I was shocked to see my states turn blue.  My hopes and prayers at this point are maybe 4 years of Obama will give us someone great like Reagan  again.

You are so right Lindsey, I went into my childs classroom earlier this week and on the blackboard there was the newspaper with his face plastered all over it. My second grader had to write a letter to PO, the first sentence was I am glad that you are our President. When I asked her, she said the teacher told the whole class to write that. I immediatly called the teacher and told her that my daughter would be rewriting the letter in her own words. My children worked with me during the campaign for John McCain, they listened as me and my family discussed the issues about BO, and the sat with me the night of the election and watched as I cried for our country as we gave up our safety to a socialistic President. They knew then and still know  where our family stands. I will be a voice for my children and will not let the public school system corrupt their minds.

This site is sooo wonderful. I am from Oregon which is always a blue state :( So it is nice to be able to express my views with other women who feel the same way. I agree with all of you I am worried sick about the path our country has taken. I can't believe that so many people voted for Obama. It scares me that so many people have become sheep and have just decided to believe everything they see and hear on TV. The school system tells you they are teaching you to think "critically" but they aren't they are teaching kids and adults in college how to follow the media.... It is so sad.......

I will support the new president, even if I don't like him or even agree with him. Unlike our new first lady, I have always been proud of the US no matter who is president. I don't need my husband in the Oval Office just so I can hold my head high.

I'm glad I found somewhere people still use their brains to think and not just regurgitate what the mainstream media dictates. Attendance at our church has increased and I am praying more than I ever have in my whole life.

What was that about Nostradamus predicting the end of the world in 2012? Seriously, I used to laugh at stuff like that but now it hardly seems a joke. With the new president declaring we need a civilian police force stronger than our military... um, didn't anyone tell him that he's calling for a militia? And who's going to pay for it? We can barley keep the troops we have now funded.

Sorry for rambling, I could go on and on.... I'm glad I found somewhere that I don't have to try to talk some sense into everyone. lol

Almost 46% of the voters in the US this past election voted Republican...for McCain...so we need to remember not to feel alone...many people are conservative in this country (even though the 'drive by' media tries to make it seem otherwise) and we need to ban together to make a difference in the next election! Obama is feeding into the pop culture of this country in order to appear hip...I prefer the gentleman that President Bush was and is...he is a class act! Obama reminds me of the many "stars" in Hollywood who haven't done anything deserving of their fame.

I have Direct Tv too-It is a great alternative....I keep Fox News on when my kids aren't home just to keep up with the daily news.  We like Direct Tv for the Kid channels & Sports part too...NFL Ticket and my husband loves the English Premier Soccer channel. Hello fellow Republicans!! Nice to chat with some rational beings on FB!!! :-) I cried too when President Bush and First Lady Laura left in the Helicopter....Maybe Jeb Bush will run... I live in Florida-he was a great Governor..:-) Hang in there and just keep away from abc cbs and nbc news. I recommend Netflix too, great deal for movies, I have triplets so it is always nice to have the option of a movie night. Have a great day!

Also... i am so glad that i found this site on FB...its nice to be able to write something on here about politics and not get bashed or belittled for my thoughts and feelings!

((giggle)) that's a great line, to treat President Obama with the same respect as the dems did Bush...I'll have to start using that one. The media has succeeded in motivating me to permanently turn off my television. We're not getting that box deal or a new TV for the big switch coming in a few weeks. They'll keep with their garbage til we make them obsolete. Every time I hear "President Obama" I think it's some sort of joke...like, really..are you serious people voted for that guy?! Wow.

All this is scary. I watched Obama being sworn in. (I almost decided against it...but i turned the tv on while i was cleaning)... As everyone was "crying" at how "beautiful" the ceremony was, i was crying as P.Bush was flying away in the helicopter...thinking....there goes safety. P. Bush had a ton on his plate in the past 8 years....and through all of it, after 9/11, he kept us safe. I definately do not feel that way with Obama. My husband and i will probably benefit from Obama's tax plans, but to us, that was not worth selling out our country for extra money...so we did not vote for him. I read on here, somewhere, someone said "I will treat Obama with the same respect that the Democrates treated Bush...." I like that =)

All of it scares me...Obama...Clinton...the sheep who voted for them. The headline in today's newspaper had huge letters: Hope over Fear. Huh???! Fear?...It's repulsive. I literally don't get the media hoopla and hope that people are noticing the insanity.

[deleted account]

I am just hoping that like all the presidents before him, Obama will NOT carry through with his campaign promises. He is going to face opposition from the senior senate and house members. I am ashamed of all the people who have bashed W. so I will show Obama respect when speaking of him because he is the President of the United States. I am more afraid of Hillary being the Sec. of State.

I am happy to hear other people who believe as I do...I am unsure what everyone (Obama supporters) are expecting now??? Hand outs??? What ever happened to the great quote by A DEMOCRAT, JFK- "Ask not what this country can do for you, ask what can I do for my country".........We may as well replace it with....."Ask not what you can do for your government, but what the government can do for you"................UGH, I hope it is a  fast 4 years and we have a great, strong Republican for 2012...chat with you soon!

Welcome to the group!  I agree the Bush's are classy people.  President Bush had to listen to obama bash him in every speech and he still gave him a hug and smiles when he left.  Compare that to how the clintons left.  They needed a big party, use of the plane, and their people took the ws off the computers.
