Oh! I know, Laura...my MIL did zucchini for a couple years, but she just stopped because she got way too many! Those babies were huge! Like softball bats! lol I LOVE making zucchini bread, she would give us more than we could even use.



I'm hoping to plant zucchini, tomatoes (all kinds), peppers, banana peppers, strawberries, pumpkins, and maybe some other stuff, too. I've gotta work my way into the whole green thumb thing...lol.

Traci, glad to hear you are thinking of putting in a vegie garden. I love being able to go outside and pick the vegies for dinner at night. The beans that grow get frozen and last to spring. The tomatoes are canned and used throughout the winter. The brocoli is also frozen and lasts forever. It's also great that the kids go back to the garden and pick the little yellow pear tomatoes or red cherry tomatoes and snack on that while outside playing. If you do zucchinni be prepared for alot of it. I did lots of bread, stir frys, grilling and sauting of it and got sick of it. It can only be frozen in grated form which can only be used for bread then. If you slice it and freeze it it's really mushy when thawed. I also grow a variety of peppers and slice those up and freeze for use doing the year. I love getting my hands dirty in the garden and getting out in the sun to do the work. We always have a toad and mole somewhere in the garden so the kids enjoy that too. Good luck with garden plans next year. Each year plant your things in different places.

I have a really good scrapbooking program, it's called Scrapbook factory deluxe, not like i use it for my own pics or anything lol but it's nice to make picture cards and scrapbooking pages for other people. Someday im going to get around to using for all my pictures.

It's nice because you can change the colors of the premade pages or you can just make your own. It's cheaper because you don't have to buy all the scrapbooking supplies, just paper and ink.

Laura-we've got Rose of Sharon bushes on our property (about 6 or 7, I think) and the hummingbirds LOVE them! I haven't been able to show the kids just yet because they are so darn fast! Next spring we are going to redo all of our landscaping and then I'm starting a garden. I wanted to this past year, but didn't get to it. What did you plant?



Lindsay-I hear you on the picture dilema!!! lol I just recently removed over 11,000 pics from my computer, putting them on cd's....I wish it didn't take me so long to upload them onto Kodak gallery *sigh*. Since I've done that I've made a goal for myself. Every month on the last day I put all my pics on my computer, do any editing, and then upload and then back them up onto cd's. That way, it's done every month and I don't get behind again. I did it in June, but here it is August 8th and I've still gotta do my July pics! LOL Maybe tonight :)



Brenda- what program do you use to digital scrap? I've been interested in that, but I just love regular scrapbooking too much. I like how I can make things three dimensional with regular scrapping. But the cost is immense, so I totally understand why people digiscrap! Plus, no stickers to keep the kids from getting into :) I'm interested in learning more about digiscrapping....



Well, it's great to learn more about all of you! Every now and then it's nice to talk about regular stuff. The political stuff is exhausting to me lately...

I just joined the debating group and was wondering why it was so inactive, now I know. I don't mind the libs that are on there as much as the multitude of them on Obama Mammas. I just can't relate. The politics here in WI is really making me bite my nails, it's truely unbelievable what the Dems are doing here. But, I'm enjoying my summer with the kids. Zoo, park, museum, projects, you name it we're doing it or at least what we can afford. I grow a vegie garden and I'm starting to enjoy so fruits from that labor. Although none of my seeds worked out this year. Planted them 3 times. We had a robin with 3 babies in a hanging basket right outside our window. Great fun for the kids to see that. One day a humming bird came by to eat from the flowers and the hummingbird was checking out the babies and the babies were checking out the hummingbird. It was really neat, kind of funny. We have a boat so that's always fun, but this summer being so cool we haven't used it as much. And now, gotta go to take kids swimming.

I've become burnt out on debating politics so i have been putting most of my focus on getting the kids ready for school and signing up for religion classes. They raised the price of enrollment here for "supplies" but then gave us a huge list of supplies we're suppose to buy but whatever.



Back to school clothes shopping with a 9 year old is sooo much fun lol so im glad i got that over with. My son starts school this year so i had to have all his checkups done this summer.



Now im trying to convince him to play soccer this year just to see if he likes it, my daughter plays so if both of them play i think ill be spending a lot of my time at the soccer fields.



I finally found a job that will work well with my kids and of course the training for it is on the first day of school so i have to reschedule that. Im going to be doing para work with the schools. That way i dont have to find someone to watch my kids when school is called off or miss their games and practices. So im pretty excited about that.



My goal for this year is to organize the past 5 years of pictures i have on my computer. Before my son was born i didn't have a digital camera so i have books of pictures for my daughter but for the last 5 years i haven't printed any of them out. So thats what i want to do. It will probably take me the next 5 years to get that done.

I so agree with you Traci - the libs are a scary lot, and immoral is a very accurate word to define them.

But, I'm like you, I need diversions and we have a lot in common. I have a book club I'm a member of and a recipe club. I also love to do digital scrapbooking, stichery, shop (when I have money), be outdoors playing with my kids and spending time with my hubby.

I have had a paradigm shift of sorts lately. I used to get all worked up over political issues, and still do from time to time. But from my religious understanding, I have realized that God is letting the evil run it's course so He can judge them.

I'm not saying that we need to stand back and let it happen. I believe we have to do what we can to slow the spread of evil. But, we need not let it completely take over our lives. We know that right will prevail eventually and we need to keep up the good fight.

But, we need to focus on our families; spend time with them, teach them, prepare them for what may come and enjoy life's pleasant moments we have. If we get caught up too much in the fear and worry of the process, we may miss those special moments. I have chose not to miss out on them for those good memories may be what we need to buoy our spirits up when we are truly faced with personal tragedy.

So, those are just my thoughts. I really love this group! I don't know where else I could really go to find such like minded people. =)

I to don't understand the way they think, its funny when you read their posts everything they accuse us of saying about Obama , they all have said about Bush when he was in office. Yet if you bring that up to them they just denie it I tried to bring it up on the Debating side , they just ignored it .




I love being with my family, Shopping, I love playing sports for fun. Most of all though I love cooking (making soups, different types of meals I love it ) I took Culinary arts in High School.

I hear you Traci, I have been taking a breather from the debating moms. I get so depressed thinking that there is people that think the way they do out there, it gives me no hope. In my spare time I love to go shopping, decorating, and since we got a new horse that is well broke, I love riding horses. Most of my time spent is with my kids and family. It seems like we have something going on every day. I am getting ready to paint my dining room, and some other rooms in my house and redo them. So that should keep me busy for a while!
