He has to hurry up and pass the bill so his progressive friends dont get mad. Doesnt anyone see if he takes over health care Nancy palussy is going to send out diet plans for every American. This Bill is a sign Of Socialism and Communism if you ask me. We all need access to health care but they need to start over and fix the problems now.

I agree that Healthcare reform is much needed. Everyone should have access to medical care when needed. Obama's plan is not it though. The reform needs to begin with the insurance companies that are now controling medical care and costs. Most states could also use a revamp of their Medicaid programs. Medicare could also use an overhaul. And the reason Obama is pusing it even harder now is because it was his biggest campaign promise, and come November, after mid term elections, he will be a lame duck president.

Here's a quick article about a Rep. from my state (not my Rep. though) and his thoughts on health care. His "Roadmap" addresses all sorts of issues including health care and he has been trying to get some attention to these ideas but has been greatly ignored by this adminstration. He's been getting alot of national attention though. He is one of the few who I think is genuinly concerned for the sake of all American citizens. He's not trying to push just his ideas, he's trying to push for better ideas. He has alot of ideas but they are all open for debate and constructive reworking. Amy, some of his ideas are the same ones you mentioned. I think you might like his thoughts. I am with many of you who stated that the health care bill is just an expansion of the current way we are doing healthcare. I just ask my friends who are for it...how many more people can you stack on your family to cover them for medical care? Nothing that you are currently are hearing is new. Electronic records have been talked about for 20 years. Medicare and Medicaid are the determining agencies for cost that all hospitals, doctors and insurance companies have as the basis of their fees. I have billed insurances for years. I don't like rising health insurance cost as much as anyone else...but every agency in the world that has had a government take it over...costs way more than private industry ever charges to handle it. There is no secret money stash to pay for any of this...it will cripple jobs and put all of us into a place none of us want to go. We must hope that this doesn't pass. Obama needs this to pass so he will have that in his legacy. I am simply not interested in his agenda....I just want those politicians to listen to wisdom and reason. We simply cannot afford it. If you are insured, you already pay for others to see doctors. They can't simply write off balances into the ocean. If this passes....those of us with jobs, won't have insurance because we will need to decide to eat or see the doctor. I didn't get that from Glenn Beck, either. I worked in the industry and saw first hand what it does to the medical industry. We are seriously in trouble if it passes.

Ladies - my in-laws sent us an E-mail from a Doctor writting his Senator- he said , doctors will not control their patients treatment, gov.'t will decide what is done ( or not ) gov.'t will have access to our bank accounts, to recoup moneys for treatment recieved ( if any ) this alone makes me angry ! they're all money hungry fools. they are passing laws secretly , why ? the public needs to get angry.. is Obama an american or no ?

I personally find it suspicious that they're so determined to pass something that no one wants... why? Is it because someone is paying them to push it? Whatever the reason, I don't trust them, I don't trust the health care agenda and I don't want anything to do with anything the current administration is doing in DC except for them to step down or be impeached or elected out and people who know what they're doing take over.

I think they are wasting a lot of energy and resources on a bill that is desperately lacking. It will not fix anything! And by the way, nothing is free, especially not this health care bill. We will be paying even more for worse coverage through taxes (some just may be hidden) All the countries that have the socialized medicine are highly taxed. I do not watch Beck, but my 4 year old even knows who Bill O'Reilly is : )

I'm a grad student in Health Policy/Administration. While our system is seriously flawed, the current bill(s) is NOT the solution to the problems we have.

I think the crux of our problem is that health insurance is tied to employment here in the states. If we were to remove the employers out of the equation, we'd be able to create a better market for insurance... like shopping for car insurance.

I think most people agree that a wealthy country like ours needs to have some system to ensure that people have access to regular healthcare regardless of income, but that does not mean we should expand medicaid with a public option. We need to create more of a FREE MARKET in healthcare.

If people / employers would still like to somehow receive healthcare as an employment benefit (and employers still receive their tax deductions), employers could organize a mechanism to pay a set portion of whatever plan the employee chooses on their own.

At any rate, I am NOT pleased with the current administration and its bullying tactics regarding this "reform." It's just more of the same junk we already hate.

I, too agree that our current healthcare needs to be reformed/fixed not replaced by a government run healthcare system, because apparently they'll manage it better then the private sector? Right. And we all know that this isn't "free" healthcare...that's total B.S. Hardworking families like mine, who are in the upper tax bracket and have jobs that provide us with healthcare (that we pay for), are the ones that will have to pay for others care. I'm sorry, but that's messed up.

Planned Parenthood has a very large stake in the passage of Health Care. They will benefit by the millions if this passes. We already pay for low income abortions, now we will pay for everyone's abortions, including other country's abortions. Planned Parenthood's solution for Haiti? abortions. Katrina? abortions. The lies are everywhere - especially about abortion not being part of the Health Care Plan. Vote them all out when they pass this!!!! YOU are responsible. Ask every representative their stand on Health Care and abortion - it's a matter of life or death to millions of innocents.

I think not only is the end of this grate country near but the faith of the world hangs in the balance. if we got bank rupt and dont alow people to faile then we are going to fail as a hole.

They could change tweek it improve it without so many pages they could do much without the majour reform that will hurt us in the long run. But they do not want any input from anyone who does not go along witht heir plan. and special interst, earmarks, favors to get votes. with a lot less cost and have the peoples backing. it seems thay do not want to listen to reason.

I agree with you about healthcare. I havent meant many people that agree with anything obamas doing but then again i live in the south.I live in a small town so the ER here any that bad. i have gone a few times and got in to see a doctor in under an hour. i did live in a big town before i moved. one year i broke my foot and it took them 4 hours to see me. As for the tv thing my son is too young to become a glazed donut yet but im sure the time will come. he likes the baby chanels as of now. hes also an only child so its pretty peacefull..

Health care in this country needs to be addressed and reformed. The current bill they're trying to pass is not about health care as much as it about everyone grabbing as much of anything for themselves and pushing an agenda that very few agree with. I don't know how anyone can be proud of that and say that we should pass it just to get something passed and we'll deal with the problems as they come along. To me that's like building a house in a weekend and dealing with what we forgot or didn't do as the house falls down around us while we're living in it. Don't we as a country desserve better? Don't we want a health care reform that's well thought out and doesn't contain entitlements and other far reaching agenda items? And for Glenn Beck, I don't watch him. But I try not to have the tv on too much anyhow because my kids turn into zombies and then when it's turned off they start fighting with each other. Less tv makes for a much more peaceful household.
