My 12 month old daughter has been suffering from bronchiolitis for about 2 1/2 weeks now. She first had a stomach bug was better for about a day then started coughing her regular doc misdiagnosed her with seasonal allergies/cold so i took her to a different pediatrician when things started getting bad. She was wheezing and coughing constantly. It seems like everytime she is getting better the next day we are back at square one. She has been on a nebulizer for two weeks now. Is this normal for her to be going through this for so long? She did have a chest x-ray and was negative for pneumonia. Any hints or advise would be greatly appreciated.

we actually wound up going through six weeks of her having the bronchiolitis before it turned into pneumonia. She has had it recurring several times in the past few months. She is on albuterol when needed and pulmicort once a day. Still she is getting sick every two weeks she starts with a runny sneezy nose then it goes into her ears and then into her lungs. She had her third chest x-ray in 3 months last week and the doc put her on singulair in addition to the other meds. She sees a pulminologist in July. I am just at a loss as to why she keeps getting so sick. I guess we just need to live in a plastic bubble or something.

My 5 yr old had bronchitis a few months back and it took at least 2 weeks til he started to get better , he did show a small improvement each day though. Dont know if that helps you at all .
