Hi Kristina, i am a 23 year old mother to two boys. a 15 month old and a 5 yr old. I am a full time college student and also looking for friends with kids. I see your in bon air, i live in mechanicsville. congrats on almost getting your associates. I just started this semester so i have a while to go. I am also a breastfeeding mother.

Aww thanks! I'm 24 weeks along! And i get my 1st boy so im super excited!! I can't wait to have another baby in the house, my girls are getting out of the baby stage and into toddler age so i miss my babies hehe!

Hi ladies, I was reading your thread and you both seem to be in the same situation I'm in. I'm in the Far West End and my baby girl is going to be a year old this week! I can't believe it, the first year has gone by so fast. I'm back in Richmond after working in Fairfax for a few years, so most of my friends aren't around here now and most don't have children yet. I'd love to get together sometime if you guys would like to hang out!

You're excapades sound very similar to ours. I think we went to the mall 3 days in a row one week! She is big enough and can sit in the front of the stroller now so she loves being out and moving. We go to target a lot, too! I can't wait until it gets warner so we can go to the outdoor malls and parks and things like that. I'll send you my phone number in a message so you can give me a call whenever to hang out.

Well that is good that you are almost done. I can understand wanting to stay home as long as possible. I couldn't imagine having to leave Madison right now, I am truly blessed I get to stay home with her now. That would be good if you could work at a daycare and have Ashton there. Madison and I go to the mall or target. Nothing too exciting. She normally just sleeps so when we do get out of the house it is just for me really. We go to lunch with her dad sometimes and when my parents come into town seems we run all over the place doing errands. What about you and Ashton now?

I am finishing up my associates degree right now. I have this Spring semester to finish and only one class left to take. I'm going to try to take it over the summer if possible to go ahead and get it out of the way. I don't think I'm going to jump right into work, though. I want to stay home as long as possible. I'm thinking about getting a job in a daycare where I can have Ashton with me. We'll see though.



We definately should get together! What do you and Madison do when you get out?

Thats good that she wasn't too fussy. Madison seems to like her naps which I am gratefully for so I can get things done around the house. I am cherishing them now because I know as she gets older things change. I feel a little bad for her dad because she seems more interested in me but I guess that is natural since we are together all day. How much longer do you have with school? We should get together sometime if you are interested.

She wasn't too bad. A little fussy at certain times of the day but nothing like what i expected. I really wasn't even sure she was teething until I could see them right before they came through! I agree with you on the size thing! Every brand runs different on her! Her schedule has been a little off since she's teething (I think she has more coming) but we're working on it! She has decided this week she doesn't want to nap so she only takes about 20 min 2 times a day where she was napping 1-2 hours at a time! She's great! She's also been a mommys girl. She doesn't want anything to do with anybody but me, even her dad! I don't mind, though! :)

Madison is so long that I had to buy 12 month Gerber onesies. I don't understand how they size clothes. Other onesies that are made by different brands and are sized 3-6 months seem to fit her. I am ready for summer so I don't have to bundle her up and we can be outside more. It is amazing how they grow. She is starting to smile a lot more and "talk." How exciting that Ashton can roll over and 2 teeth..wow. Was she really fussy when they came in? Is she on a pretty regular schedule?

I strictly breastfeed. I had to buy Ashton 3-6 month clothes when she was 2 months old. She is incredibly long. She's even growing out of some of those now. She rolled over a few days ago! I almost cried! She's growing so fast! She's actually trying to crawl now but can't quite figure it out yet.

That is nice that Ashton sleeps well. I have been thankful that Madison has started sleeping to 5-5:30. I would be nervous so sleep with her, I feel I might roll over on her or something. I had her in my room when she first came home but then I found I couldn't sleep because every little noise she made I would get up and check on her, she now sleeps in her own room. Yea we do have a chunker, I just had to buy her 3-6 months clothes and I even bought her one dress that was 6-12. I pump and give her formula. I tried breastfeeding but it wasn't for me but I still wanted her to have my milk so I pump. She only gets formula at night and if we are out and about and I don't have breastmilk. Which do you do?

Ashton has been sleeping really well since the day she came home with the exception of the first night :) We were still figuring things out! She technically slept through the night for the first time when she was about a month old. She wakes up to eat and goes right back to sleep. She won't sleep by herself yet though. She sleeps with me. I was so nervous to put her to sleep on her own when she first got home because she had a little trouble with congestion before we left the hospital. We both have gotten used to sleeping together now! You definately have a chunker! haha! Ashton weighed 12lbs at 2 1/2 months! Are you breastfeeding or using formula? Carting around a carseat is definately good exercise! It's tough work!!

How cute! It amazes me how much Madison seems to change everyday. I just love watching her to see what she is going to do next. Is Ashton sleeping through the night? I am getting more comfortable taking Madison out on my own, it certainly beats staying in all the time. She is getting so heavy though, I can hardly carry her to the car in her car seat... I guess it is good excerise. At her one month dr. appointment she weighed 11lbs and 7 ozs....we have a chunker:)

Yes. Ashton just started with the mirror at 2 1/2 months. She's so funny. She does something new everyday. Today it seems like she has just figured out how loud she can get. She babbles and then she will let out a squeal as loud as she can! It's hilarious! And she laughs out loud now, too! It's amazing! I bet Madison is starting to do more now, too!

We just introduced Madison to a mirror and she doesn't seem interested yet. When did your daughter start being interested in the mirror? Madison is 6 weeks old. That is so cute about your daughter. I would love to get together sometime, none of my friends have babies yet and really aren't anywhere near having any. It would be nice to know someone in a similar boat.

Elementary school. Kindergarten or Pre-K/Preschool. I love kids so much and I would love to be a part in teaching them skills they would use for a lifetime. My daughter has changed so much since the day she was born. It's incredible! We should get together sometime. My daughter loves looking at herself in the mirror. She smiles and babbles like she's having a conversation with herself. She would probably love to see another baby!

I am in school to be a teacher. I'll have my associates at the end of summer and I'm not sure if I want to take time off and get a job or keep going to school. I really just want to be home and be a mom! It's too much fun!

Yea, life is very different now that I have a baby. I'm still a little nervous about getting out and about on my own with her, just logistics worry me. My husband and I try to get out as much as possible with her though. Our day is pretty much exactly like yours, well besides the fact I don't take classes. What are you going to school for?

The only things I have done since Ashton was born are shopping and occasionally visiting dad at work! We will walk around Target or the mall if we need to get out of the hous. Normal days right now consist of feeding, napping, and playtime. Then we do it all over again until it's bathtime and bedtime! I am taking classes at John Tyler Community College on Tuesdays (almost all day) and Thursday mornings but every other day I'm home.
