Hello rural moms!!!

Living in a rural community can have it's ups and downs, but let's face it, anywhere you live has it's ups and downs. While you may have to travel farther to get your basic necessities there is likely less violence in a rural community and there is bound to be more community in a rural community.

Rural living has its advantages over urban sprawl and big cities. Families are moving to smaller towns and out of the city at alarming rates, many with the same reasons. The following are just a few of the reasons why it’s good to raise your kids in the country. Of course, it's my opinion! :)

Whether you have an acreage or a farm or living within a lake community, the country offers peace and quiet you can’t get in the city. Sit outside on the porch or looking through your window, you will be the audience to nature playing its tune. You hear crickets chirping, birds singing, possibly a cow mooing or a rooster crowing or the gentle hum of the Bees. And one can't forget about the wildlife! Amazing!

Life in the country means your home isn’t packed on top of your neighbors. Your children have room to run, play, jump and be kids without worry. Families can spread out among their properties and give everyone some elbow room. For people who love gardening, the space of living in the country allows them to get creative with the size of their garden and what to include. Parents appreciate the space that comes with living in the country, being able to send kids outside offers a piece of mind that the kids have plenty of room to grow.

Families that live in the country have the benefit of having clean air. Sitting outside at night and being able to view the stars and moon in all our glory is clear evidence of the air quality in the country.

Rural moms have a special lifestyle, enjoying the peace and solitude of country life from sunrise to sunset.

Quoting Gina:

I just joined this group, and I was born and raised on a dairy farm in Idaho. I live about 5 miles from where I grew up, and I love living in the country! I am so glad that there are people who like to live in the big cities, so that we have more room in the country.

Hi Gina!!

I can't agree more! LOL I love the country lifestyle and I think it's a wonderful environment to raise a family. Whether digging in the dirt or baking in the kitchen...I get to enjoy nature at its best! Welcome to the group!

Hi Gina. I'm in Idaho too. Where abouts are you?

It's only the country life for me. I asked my husband before we got married to promise me he'd never move me to a city because I'd curl up and die. We live on 6 acres and I feel crowded. :)

I love the fact that my children are being raised with livestock, gardening etc. My three year old can tell you where his eggs and milk comes from (momma's chickens and goats). This in a day and age when high schoolers don't know that milk comes from a cow/goat! I'm so blessed to live in the country and have the opportunity to raise my children with the skills and knowledge of such a lifestyle. :)
