The library is a great resource for parents, and offers free story time, music classes and early literacy information. In addition they have special programs quite often, like a nutcracker puppet show around Christmas time, and Chinese Lion Dancer performance at Chinese New Year. My son most enjoyed a performance by the "bubble man" who made huge bubbles with a hula hoop and tub of bubble water!

Along similar lines, a mom in my nother's group posted a rave review about the passport services at the San Mateo Library. They are open after 5 and on weekends!
