I am a mother in Midale saskatchewan with Children 11, 8, and 7. I am immigrating here from the U.S. and am having difficulties getting my daughter a doctor and transfering her meds. Any advice? I could really use a friend who goes through similar experiences. My daughter is 8 and at four was diagnosed with a mood disorder, adhd, and odd now however, she has been retested, They are dragging their feet on the results and seem to have issues with her meds. Like they don't have that kind in Canada. This is sure tough. The school claims that many things can not be done until they have a diagnosis. The only thing her canadian doc has told me is that their are deffinately issues with processing. She still doesn't sleep the night. Steals stuff and has a hard time socially. She is very bright but takes twice as long as anyone to answer a question. Thats just the short of it.

Hi everyone, I am from Davin. A very small hamlet outside of Regina. My kids are 23 and 20 and both are out of the house. It has been a couple of years but I still miss the sounds of them being here. I work at a care home and have been married to my wonderful husband for 16 years. I am going to be going through a tough time soon and hopefully I can meet some great mothers with great advise about copeing with my sons deployment overseas.

I'm Jen, mom of Jordan 11 and Nolan 8. Married for 14 yrs, lived 9 of them in Estevan, the first five in Swift Current and I grew up in Tompkins, my husband in Tantallon. I am amazed at all the moms here who have recently moved to our wonderful province! I have never left and probably never will. I also stay at home and babysit out of my home, have been doing this for almost 7 years now in Estevan and 2 in Swift Current. My boys are old enough to stay on their own for a bit so I'm considering going out to work again but have had no luck with the jobs I've applied for. I get interviews for all of them was offered a very very part time job but couldn't justify going for it income wise. So for now, I will probably be doing childcare for a few more years, perhaps until our house is paid off!

Hi everyone, my family and I are now in Moose Jaw.  We have three boys and one little girl, they are 7, 5, 4, and 18 months.  I am currently an Athabasca University student studying at home towards a Bachelor of Science degree.  Staying on top of my studies is a chore but love being able to study at home with the kids is great...:)

Hi everyone! I moved to Wynyard in September of '08 after my fiancee was transferred. We moved 3 weeks before our daughter was born, talk about stressful lol!! I've lived in Sk. my entire life but never in this area of the province. It's still a little lonely at times, but we're gradually starting to get to know people better. I really love it here & hope to be able to stay here for a while!

Hey Im a SAHM (stay at home mom) with two kids, ages 2 years (almost 3) and 1 year. I live in Swift Current, and have been here for a year, but don't know too many people, my husband works in the construction trade. Before Swift Current we lived in Regina for 2 years, and before that we lived in our hometowns of Assiniboia and Rockglen (south of Moose Jaw), Swift Current has been very good to us, and I have to say that we LOVE it here, Hope to meet some other Swift Current moms...
