I have learned that my daughter has unknown food allergies. She ate sour skittles and took two weeks of not worrying to get it out of her system. She now carries an epie pen and has another allergy test next week. She was one on the youngest kids at sick kids to have one but at that time it was just environmental but they say that every time she eat whatever causes her allergy she will get worse and more severe but the school is aware of her issues and still gives her candies such as gummy bears which have food die.

I want to complain because they know not to feed her anything unless I send it with her. I don't want her stand out from the other kids but its difficult. Yell I'm still trying to get use to eat not just her. Also, Halloween is coming and I tried talking to her about the fact that she can't eat it the candy until we know what she is allergic to but she can't understand and gets upset.

at my sons school there is a child who has a nut allergy so the school has totally banned any nut products i.e peanut butter cereal bars that contain nuts etc... they should not be giving your child anything unless you tell them to so you have every right to make a complaint and not just to the teachers but to a higher source!! Good luck with the test lets hope it's easier to control the allergy once you know exactly whats causing it!!

Fight for your child. Her next reaction could be fatal. Not to scare you but my daughter has food allergies. Those who don't have to deal with it just don't get it. Your childs health is worth it.

Hi there,
My son started school not knowing he had an allergy to walnuts of all things he had a slice of cake it had walnut sprinkled over top, next few minutes throwing up and not looking very good at all. We live in New Zealand and our schools as Im sure yours would too a policy on food and health and safety. You have notified the school of his medical condition they are liable to have legal action against them if he were to become ill through their negligence. It will also pay to talk to his teacher and make his classmates aware that he has this condition. In general kids don't want to see their friends suffer and making them aware he can take responsibility for her decisions to choose to eat that food can it make her sick? Do I like feeling that way when I do eat this food? Is it a risk Im willing to make? Self monitoring and self awareness you cant be there always so help her to become more aware. That way your both be alot happier and wiser.
My son thankfully has out grown his allergy but he cautiously eats maybe one or two walnuts every now and then ... he likes them more when he can gather them up and sell the odd bag here and there.
Good luck be proactive and be strong :)

i know its hard. my son is three and dont understand. he has a food allergy to eggs.. oh and that cold be bad.. but for some reason i havent learned anything by a reaction just a test. they say they do only get worse. so i rather not chance it. if she does continue to get it from school you are in the right by complaining if it has to do with your childs health. ecspecially if she could end up in the hospital because of it.. my son does not carry an epi pen because food but because of bees.. so i know your worries. dont worry your slef sick tho. be strong it will get figured out. try making her brownies or something she can have thats sweet that she loves!

I think you should tell the school not to let her eat anything that you don't send to school. There are times that there is no choice but to stand out. It's possible that she got the candy from a friend and not the school. Some things are just going to happen - unfortunately. She'll get better about eating only the right things as she gets older.
