Master 5 and Miss 4 love baking, colouring, making and painting castles, dancing, making a stage and putting on a show, jigsaw puzzles (or make your own, colour a picture and cut it up), playing restaurants (making a menu, and cooking it with supervision), origami, running/bike races outside, hopscotch, playing with skipping ropes, having picnics, making a treehouse (blankets, pillows and books get taken up there), taking the camera outside and taking photos.......

I used to go browsing at the local craft store for ideas and took the list of 'included' for kits their age and buy them myself cheaper at dollar stores. My kids love to cook. Do a search for cooking for children for ideas of easy stuff to make.

My kids love books and have loved them since they were toddlers. I would set up reading time just like they have in kidergarten and read the books almost as if I were acting them out, with strange voices and sound effects, then we would adlib our own stories, allowing them to use thier imaginations in adding to the story! My son is now 14 and hopes to be a movie director, maybe that had something to do with it!

We do a lot of craft, like cutting and glueing, glitters, stickers ect. Lots of outdoor play with water. Making cubby houses with the dining room chairs and sheets (i have boys), maybe for girls you could make the cubby out to be a fairy princess castle? Book and puzzle time is a great quiet time activity and i also think the occassional movie is great, we often make the room dark and pretend its the movie cinemas. Hope some of this is helpul :)

Thanks baking sounds fun and they love to color. Maybe I can get them some paint brushes and some other art activities.

If you are able to baking is something that my 4 year old son and 5 year old daughter love to do with me. Another one of their favorite things to do indoors is color or any kind of art.
