My daughter will be in the 5th grade this year. When is it right to have her start shaving her legs? I think I was doing it by 6th grade, but I can't remember. She has a friend that has already started shaving her legs this summer.

I think I was around 9 when I start my cycle I started shaving too. I plan to buy my girls an electric razor.

For such a little thing, I was very hairy! I was terribly skinny, but the hair on my legs was more embarrassing than my size. With the new razors, shaving is less hazardous than it was back in those days ;) Be careful with Nair, it took the hide off my legs! And don't get me started on what it did to my upper lip!

She seems a bit young, but I know girls are maturing earlier, so if she is hairy, teach her how. Don't send her into the bathroom by herself. It took me years to figure out how not to nick my kneecaps and ankles!

God bless, honey

It depends on when she gets enough hair on her legs to shave. My daugher was 12 when she started shaving. Actually, she uses Nair because I don't want her to cut herself.

personally I took my daughter to a salon and had her waxed at first. She shaves now but I did it for the mere fact that I was afraid of her cutting up her legs and the waxing last so much longer. Some people are very sensitive to waxing but I am not so I gave it a shot.
