It is, she must have been switched at birth! I'm just kidding. It is partially genetic and partially nutritional and environmental. Also, everyone grows at a different rate. She may be really tall for her age right now, but she could stop growing taller tomorrow and be 5 ft for the rest of her life. Also, genetics are really complicated (which is why they haven't figured genes out all the way yet.) Just because you, your husband, and everyone's parents aren't tall doesn't mean that somewhere back in the family tree there was someone tall and the gene has been getting passed along, but has been recessive, and it just happened to come out in your daughter. This kind of stuff happens all the time. My grandma tells me all the time how I look exactly like her aunt, who died a million years ago. She's shown me pictures, and I really do. what are the odds? Anyway, I wouldn't worry about it. When they predict how tall a child will be it is really a complete guess. Also, check with her pediatrician if you're worried. They usually keep a growth chart, which is a good way to see when a kid has had a growth spurt that has thrown them off their expected height/weight.

Thanks Roxanne, she seems to be starting puberty early, maybe that has something to do with the big growth spurt, thanks for all the info x
