Ok i need some advice, i moved about 2 wks ago into a new house. Now my 8 yr old will not sleep in his bed. He will either sleep on the floor (these are hardword floors) or go climb in his sisters bed. What do i do?

camp in his room for a night or two. Make his room fun and airy. Hang out in his room during the day. Let him choose a decor or two. These all help ease out his anxiety and hopefully he''ll settle himself out. Good Luck.

My son has actually JUST started sleeping in his room. It took a long time, a lot of patience and some crying but he just sleeps in his room now.

Be persistent. When he comes in the room, take him back to his bed. As for going into his sisters bed, I don't know what to say about that. I did consider putting a hook and eye on his door or locking my bedroom door but my husband was pretty against it.

Good luck.

we moved into a new house too and had difficulties with our son and what helped him was buying new bedding then he wanted to sleep in his "new" bed which was actually the same one but different sheets. good luck.

Have you asked him why he wont sleep in his bed? Is he afraid of something, placement near a closet/window/door or something that scares him?

I think he has to get used to the new house, it is normal. What about a toy to sleep with? My Son has a pikachu (pokemon toy) and when he is scared or nervous he hugs his pokemon and fall asleep. he is 7yr.

Talk to him, ask him what is up. There must be something bothering him....if asked I am sure he will tell you. Maybe let him help move his furniture around in his room so it is the way "he" wants it then he will love his room because HE set it up.

Have you tried a fun nite lite? I have one for mine that is motorized and has fish that go around and around. The motor in it makes a whirring sound that actually helps to relax him.
