I'd like some input on homeschooling. Is first grade too young?

We are homeschooling our children. Our daughters public school a while back recommended it. We were hesitant at first and tried the Montessori program again, but she really did need to learn at home. It is work, especially on days they don't want to work, but if you have the time and patience it is a great experience. The internet is my best friend when it comes to homeschooling and now chain and local book stores carry a lot of teaching supplies. I think the younger you start the better as the child is more use to your way of doing things.

I know there are programs as you as pre-school, so first grade is not too young. It is a lifetime commitment, so make sure you are ready for the challenges ahead. Find a local support group. They can give you input on curriclulm and activities and groups to join to protect you and your family. Good luck.
