My son turn 4 at the end of June and he has been pretty good at going to the toilet (1's & 2's). It seems to me that since he started school (Kindy) he has been having more accidents. The odd thing is that he mostly has number 2 accidents. He will hae the occasional number one accident but thats only when he is distracted by toys etc.

Is this normal? Is there nything I can do to help him?

ok...this sounds funny...but...it takes a while for a lil one to go poop in the potty...think about it from their point of view...they are loosing a lot of play time in the bathroom.

my son had the same problem when he started his first preschool class....it took a while but we got his body to poop before school...it really was that simple (for him anyway) same thing worked for his brother....good luck :-)

One of my daughters was perfectly potty trained and then regressed to going poo in her pants. Turns out it happened because she went poo one day and it really hurt, so after then she held it in until ... well it just came out.

After I found out what was happening we came up with a solution :) ... at home we kept a bottle of water by the toilet and whenever she had to go poo and it felt like it was going to hurt, she would just put the bottle at her lower back and pour... it ran down to that area and I guess the extra wetness made her feel ike it didn't hurt as much. We also keep wipes in the bathroom for her to wipe with. So much better feeling on the bum after doing the doo. :)

Mine does too!! I think it's completely normal, just highly frustrating. I went back to a "potty chart" in the bathroom and let him put a smiley on the days that he has no accidents and goes (since he holds it for several days sometimes). It seems to have helped.
