my 5 year old daughter will literally only eat spaghetti hoops, toast, yoghurts, cereal and beleive it or not garlic bread. We have tried to introduce different foods into her diet but she refuses point blank to even try them. She loves chocolate but we have refused to give her any until she at least tries to eat something different, she still refuses. does anyone have any ideas as to how i get her to try different foods without upsetting her.

I am in the same boat as you no matter what i do my 6 year old will flat out refuse to try any new foods and all he eats is pasta, hot dogs, strawberries, raspberries, cereal, bread and yogurt. He would rather starve than eat something he doesnt like or try new things and I have tried everything. So now i hide foods in foods and feed him a multi vitamin everyday. I am hoping it is a phase he will soon grow out of.

You could have an ethnic night for dinner, for example Fiesta Friday you can have mexican foods and even dress up to make it fun and maybe she'll try the guacomole or salsa, another day you can have fun with fruits for lunch introducing different fruits, like star fruit, pineapple, cantaloupe, mango. On St. Patrick's day you can have all "green" foods, Valentines Day all "red" foods. Kids love to have fun, so if they feel it's a party they may try different foods.
