One thing to check is to make sure he isn't constipated, as constipation can cause underwear staining even when the child wipes thoroughly.

Thank you ladies so much for your help and suggestions we have tried the wipes but he ends up using way too many me and my hubby have re trained him and its like one of you said he is just being lazy and thats what frustrating me he was a great help in getting his little brother trained because his brother wants to do everything he does and the thing that was so helpful gettin my 3yr old trained is also a curse because the 3yr old hears his big brother gettin in trouble about his under wear now we are having the same or similar issue with 2 kids now

The others have good suggestions. If he is having trouble getting the moist wipes where they need to be, try using a small amount of dry toilet paper and wrap the moist wipe around it. This will make it a little easier to hold and position.

It sounds like he is being lazy. My son is 6 and has trouble cleaning himself sometimes. I tried the wipes, but they weren't thick enough for him to get into his butt good. Now, he has to check the toilet paper before he gets off the toilet and if he is not clean he grabs a warm washcloth. Explain to your son that if he doesn't get into his butt himself you will have to do it for him. I don't think any 9 yr. old would want his mother cleaning his butt for him. Good Luck.

the 9yr old has no excuse. My son is 9 and he hasn't had any accidents. I give my kids the flushable wipes. Maybe checking behind them will teach them. Have you retaught them how to properly wipe?

I suggest putting baby wipes or those wipes for the bathroom for older kids. They are dampened and make it easy for a child to wipe as opposed to just toilet paper.
