How do i help my 6 year old consentrate at school??

My Daughter is in 1st grade and on her progress report the teacher stated " i am concerned about samantha she is easily distracted and does not always complete work accurately or in a timely manner" When i asked her what was going on she told me her friends are always asking her questions! What do i do? How do i get her to do good in school?? Please help me i don't even know where to start....... Melissa

I would practice similar activities that she does at school with her at home. That will kind of give her the opportunity to pick up study habits and learn how to focus on the task at hand. Maybe start with 5 minutes and add a min everyday. My son has the same issue and he is in his last year of preschool and they told me that he needs to be able to sit for atleast 15-20 min in kindergarten to complete activities. Its tough for kids to make the transition but you just have to be patient and let her move at her own pace because if you force her it will make her more resistant to learn.
