My son is 5 and even though we take away the water an hour before bedtime (2 hours really isn't doable since he goes down at 7:30), he wets through to the sheets everytime. I've tried him in two disposable diapers with a plastic cover. I've tried a disposable with a cloth cover and a plastic cover. I've tried a cloth diaper with a plastic cover. Nothing seems to work. What am I missing here? How do I keep from changing the sheets every night? Both my 5 year old and my 3 year old have this issue.

Some kids take longer to self wake at night, and it's not uncommon, especially in boys.

They do make products (I think Goodnights is one of the brands) for older children who still don't wake easily.

If you're concerned that they may have a urinary problem, then have them checked out for that, but I have known kids who were still in "big kid diapers" until they were in middle school. Then they seemed to grow out of it.

Although, one question. Has this been consistent, or was he trained, and dry at night, but suddenly cannot stay dry anymore?
