My daughter is 6 almost 7 years old. Right now she is in girl scouts, last year she took ballet and tap classes, and the year before that she was on a soccer team. Now she wants to start with ballet and tap again, and wants to be in soccer again. My question is how much is too much? I dont want to over schedule her, but I dont want to say no to something she wants to do. Does anyone have any advice for me?

Hi Heather. My Daughter is also 6 and currently enrolled in ballet & tap. She also takes swimming lessons on and off. And in the fall she played soccer too. My answer for it was in the Fall she does soccer (Saturdays only league) and swim (twice a week) and she had to wait to join dance until December. She really enjoys each and every activity and asked me to sign her up for spring soccer. This is where I drew the line and told her to be patient until Fall. She's not aware of how much is too much.
If you are feeling overwhelmed then I'd have her decide which one she likes best or which one you feel is best for her. As for me I feel like we have too much on our plate right now being busy four nights a week. I'm not sure what girl scouts entails, but I know dance requires dedication, at least from Jan-May is all prep for the recital.
I know kids need to stay active. As log as they don't think their activities are more important than homework or family, and you don't feel overwhelmed: then all is good.

Hi Heather. I have a 7yr daughter. There are factors to consider when you want to know if its too much activities for your child apart from ofcourse the you'll be needing for enrolling her at special classes. First, does it affect her class standing? Does her strength at school wears off? Does she spend more time with the extra curricular activities than some quality time with the family?
Try to partake in some of her activities just so you'll know why she wants to do all the stuffs.
Just always remember, mommy, too much of anything is never good.
Hope you'll find your answers. Take Care and God Bless

it all depends on you and if your able to have the eng... to do it all.if you have just one kid and are able them go for it.but if you have more then it is hard.at the end of the day it is your life as well so, make sure you have time for yourself, because you are what makes your family,if mum is happy so is her babys. good luck!
