How to compensate friend for after school care?

Hi everyone,
I have just accepted a great job in our school district less than 2 miles from my kids' school. The only hitch is that the High School where I will be working gets out of school 30 minutes later than my kids do. The mom of one of my daughter's friends generously offered to pick my kids up with hers EVERY day. I am thrilled that this will work out for us but I'm not sure how to compensate her. She will be watching a 2nd and 4th grader for 30 - 50 minutes 5 days a week. She offered of her own accord and says she doesn't need to be compensated but I would feel better giving her something. I don't want to take advantage of her kindness or have her feel taken advantage of! Any suggestions? Thanks!

Yep... I'm with Amy - $50 plus some afternoon tea.

Or maybe offer to babysit her child regularly at the weekend?

Also I'd ask her to be really honest if anything is bugging her about the situation,,, to feel free to tell me if anything is going wrong, however trivial. I looked after a neighbour's child every week for a year and some of her behaviour it really irritated me, but there never was a space to mention it, so in the end I had to stop doing it.

I'd probably give her $50 dollars a week and pack an afterschool snack in the kids school bag.
