We just took our three boys on a great trip to San Francisco. They could not seem to be still and behave in the restaurants, hotel, or museums. They can't sit still and keep their voices down, and they wrestled or poked each other and ran around instead of being quiet and focusing. Are they just too young? Other kids behaved better than ours, and they seemed to be the same age. Perhaps we should only take them out one at a time? Ideas? What do you do if your children misbehave? What consequences do they have? Are they just too young to go out to restaurants?
Thanks!

I don't think they're too young to behave on a trip (unless you aren't going to any kid-friendly places). Make sure you set reasonable expectations with them beforehand and let them know the consequences. On vacation, they do a good job and they get to pick something to do or a place to eat. You can practice the desired behavior at home, too. Let them know it's a practice night, go over the rules, and then watch a video together or go to the park. On vacation, the best consequence/reward for my daughter would be swimming. Other consequences could be earlier bedtime, no story, leave a place early.

It's possible they were just overwhelmed with the excitement of the vacation. Hang in there, and prepare them in advance for next time.

i only have one son, and find just removing his privelledges works fine it soon gets him back to normal, i generally send him to bed early without his usual tv time and not allow him on his computor which seems to work fine x
