My kids started new school last year. It's hard for them at first. However, I suggested them to find real good friends, doesn't need to be a bunch, maybe one or two. Besides, I noticed that kids are sometimes meaner these days. However, that is life. I always told my kids that there will be person who appreciate them and those who don't. So they shouldn't waste times on those who don't appreciate them. I have noticed though that bullying is very common in school these days and there is nothing we can do unless it becomes noticeable. But that is a part of life-learning. I did suggest my children to ignore those mean kids because the more my kids gave in, the worse those kids were to them.

yes, well u can try! send notes to other moms in the class inviting them to a coffee & cake (or whatever). Keep it simple. U might find someone who wud welcome a play date. Knowing the mom gives great insite to the kids!
