Kindergarten Troubles

I put my son in private school due to his spirited nature, in hopes that the closer classroom would help mature him. Now that school has started, I'm getting notes home that he's throwing tantrums. He has never thrown tantrums, and it's one of those things that it's just discouraging.
I've tried scolding. I've tried encouragement. I'm now to grounding. At home he's fine because it's structured. He is headed off at the pass, we know his tactics. At school, the teacher doesn't have time to treat him any differently than the other children. Like, he does better when he's told prior to a change in the schedule, it keeps him thinking he's in control of his environment. Home school is not an option. I just need advice. Anything.

Relax. It will take time for him to adjust. Stick to one thing you want to do wether it is punish the behavior or praise the good behavior. Which ever you choose stick to it. He is in a strange new world. He needs to learn ways to express his emotions. I have down time with my girls . When they get home we have a snack and we talk about their day. he will learn. Some it takes longer then others. Relax and give him the tools he needs to express his day.
