I am a mother of a 6 year old girl and she just lost her first two teeth. And she pulled them out herself. They where very lose and she was nervous about losing them.

I asked her how her lose teeth where doing and asked her if she could wiggle them and then she pulled the first one out and she was scared because she felt a pop $ and then blood but then she started working on the other lose one an pulled that one out too.

I am very proud of her for doing that. On her own.

Its a natural feeling. I know when my 10year old lost his first tooth, I was the one to pull it out. I wrapped a kleenex around it and twisted it a bit and pulled down. It didn't bleed and I think it was because it was so ready to come out. It was weird, but when it was all done and over with he was glad and so was I. I told my son to let me pull it out because if it came out at school he might loose the tooth and the tooth fairy might not realize he lost it. So that gave him the little push he needed to have it pulled. I do know what you guys are talking about though in regards to the kids playing with the tooth with there tongue. It drove me bonkers to watch my son do it.

Do not pull it out just let it come loose naturally, with my two sons normally just biting into an apple made it come out & give them a tissue for any blood. Don't focus on the blood, focus on the tooth fairy coming! There are alot of free websites that have templates for printing off letters from the tooth fairy to thank your child for the tooth. Tell her she is growing up & becoming a big girl : ) good luck with your squimishness!

my 5 yrold lost his first tooth last week it was wobbly for ages so i gave him an apple and he accidently bit into it with his wobbly tooth still in it, he was so excited and even more so when the tooth fairy had been ,i thought it was a bit young for him to lose it and saying i was upset would be a under statement!

No worries Kecia.....My twin daughters just lost one of their front teeth two minutes apart from one another. The front tooth dangled for days and I was dying to pull it out....but the get soooo excited when they are able to do it themselves!!!!! When they lost their first tooth.....the tooth fairy bought them each a special little toy and five dollars....(BUT ONLY FOR THE FIRST TOOTH AND FRONT TEETH) LOL....but it makes it so fun for them and makes them get their mind off the blood. But I am also a nurse and the mouth bleeds alot so dont panic just have your child apply pressure with a paper towel after and the bleeding will stop quickly.....Take a deep breath....your baby is growing up.....lol
