I've been raising my granddaughter since she was 3. My daughter is a dual diagnosis (heroine addict/schizophrenic.) My granddaughter & I have not seen or heard from her for 3 years. Anyway my granddaughter has been throwing rocks at kids in class, lying to her teacher, beating up boys on the playground, & laughing at her teacher. Recently I took her to a councillor she thinks she has anxiety and anger issues which is obviously true but I need some advice from someone who's been in my situation.

Have you sat down with your granddaughter and ask her why she does these things? If she doesn't know or is still unable to use her words about feelings, monitor how much sleep she is getting. Lack of sleep can make kids act out or act a little crazy. Have the teacher send home a behavior chart. Then you and the teacher can communicate everyday on how things are going. Is there a certain time of day these things occur? Is she getting teased or bullied? Sometimes diet can cause these things too. Maybe shes eating something at school that she doesn't have at home. My son has a Soy Allergy and a High Fructose Corn Syrup Intolerance. I have to pack him a lunch everyday. He was a crazy boy last year. Getting into trouble almost daily. I thought for sure he had Bi-Polar or something. He was seeing a therapist even. I started messing around with his diet. That's when we found out about the HFCS. The allergist diagnosed the Soy. Anyways, he has only gotten into trouble 2x this year. And they were tiny, non violent incidents... I wish you luck!! Hope some of this helps.

Thank you Angie for responding to my question. You have some great ideas. I have asked her about why she is disrespectful in school the answer is always "I don't know".Bullying no, she has lots of friends. I am definitely going to try to see if its something she's eating or not enough sleep. Thanks again! 💐
