I am new to this.He was diagnosed with ADHD at 3 years old. Which I had figured out by his 2nd year. I chose to wait:until his schoolwork was being affected by his learning disability. He is the midst of his 3rd grade year. I have ALWAYS been very verbal with his teachers. I believe I made the right decision. In studying about children I didn't want to medicate too early. It had gotten to where he couldn't focus at ALL!!! It was now affecting his quality of life. He is now on his second day of 15mg. I am concerned about his appetite. He has a High matabolism. Other than giving him his medicine after he eats breakfast does anyone have any good advice

Medications for ADHD are dangerous they wanted me to do that with my daughter and I refused she is disables mentally and physically and has the attention span of maybe 30 seconds. I got her learning support help and have talked to many different agencies rather than just stick her on meds. You are taking the chance of starting an early addiction in your child being dependent of meds to be normal my cousin was put on Ritalin at 5 and he died of a drug overdose 10 years ago. I would take him off that medication and seek help research other disorders with his symptoms I am not a nurse but have taken many college classes on this and all my prof. told us an ADHD diagnoses is easy rather than actually look into what is going on they slap that on a piece of paper and are done something in the odds of 60% of kids are miss diagnosed my cousin never had ADHD he had a malfunctioned nervous system that caused over stimulation they found that out a year before he died and he was finally getting treated properly. Make sure that Aderol is the way you want to go if that's what you want look into ways to slow his metabolism certain vitamins maybe.
