We catch Aryana in her room all the time doing things like counting (up to thirty and more), singing her abc's, and singing learning songs that she has memorized (like the Days of the Week song). She's five, and very bright, but when you ask her to do things like count she gets scared and crouches down and will not tell you the right answer. She will go as faf as to repeat everything you say to get out of answering. Her Dad has a habit of giving her the answer to everything when we are working on things together and she often looks around for him and waits for someone to answer for her. I bought her electronic phonics games, hoping that the fun aspect of video games would help her memorize things and be more confident in answering, but seems to not being doing much good. My child is not a shy child and never has a problem loudly anoucing anything that crosses her mind, but she doesn't have the courage to answer any questions involving intellect. Should I be worried she'll have problems in kindergarten and how can I fix this problem now?

All children are smart... we just are in the habit of showcasing our kids...we have to take into consideration that coming down to the level of a child and working with them in play...and also applauding their efforts... Kids are fast learners... do not worry about the problem as there is no problem.... you have to only accept that she is intelligent and perfect to the level of her understanding and has a whole life time to learn...
