My 4 year old daughter who started school in September has got so clingy lately. She is constantly afraid that either my husband or I are going to leave her, with the result she is not letting herself sleep at night till she is worn out. She is by my side from once she gets home from school.

I can really relate to you because my 4 year old daughter has just started school and she is having a hard time adjusting. She dont want to go and us as parents want to protect our kids but they must venture out and learn things on their on in my case thats what is. But as far as your daughter she just need reassurance that you and dad are going to always be there, right now its new to her and she is not in her comfort zone but she will adjust the more she goes and become use to her surroundings and the teachers. I must learn this as well.....

Sounds like she might be having seperation anxiety?? You might talk with the school counceler about this or even ask your daughter if she is afraid of anything. Kids this age can be surprisingly candid when asked straight out about things, I know my four year old is lol.
