my little girl had an entire 'other' family. They were so much nicer than us!! They spoiled her rotten. I think she has a good imagination, she'll probably be really creative. As long as it stays nice and innocent I shouldn't worry, I'm sure it'll pass.

lol! I've met a lot of kids like that. Some are even playing and talking to themselves while playing. That's just normal, dear. Yeah, I agree with Missy that four year olds live in a fantasy world. It will come to pass :-)

I appreciate your reassurance. Rhylee just has this magic about her, and the last thing I want to do is stifle it with adult doses of reality. I'm glad to hear that others are experiencing it! I must admit, it is kinda fun. I just worry that she's my little "boy who cried wolf".

Aubrey, my daughter is full of it too. She's 4 1/2 and has the wildest imagination!! It's just a phase she is going through. They play their little creative games, and to them, they can be quite real. My daughter talks about her pet puppy dogs, when really, it is only the neighbours dogs that she chats to sometimes. But she talks about feeding them and taking them for walks, etc. It's just her imagination, and it isn't a bad thing for them to use their creativity.

Another thing to remember, is that they also don't tend to have a concept of time, so my daughter used to talk about how we went somewhere for lunch "today" when she was remembering going to that place for lunch a week ago. She knew the terms yesterday, today, and tomorrow, but not the true meaning of each and struggled to differentiate between last week and today. She is getting better now, but this could also be part of the problem.

I have found my daughter MUCH more creative than my son at the same age - she can create a story out of anything!

Four year olds live in a fantasy world. It's just a phase-I promise. Whenever she starts with the stories just say I know that's not really true but would you like it to be? Then just play along talking about the story for a minute. You can her stories are fun but not real and they have a time and a place so to be careful because if someone believed they were true it could get someone in trouble. Also, since she is so wrapped up in her fantasy world make sure she has lots of outlets like dress-up clothes, books, movies, etc.
