well my sons school is starting this little league baseball and I registered him online today for it and I ca not get over sat how expensive school sports really are. I found out that i have to buy baseball glove, cap, cleats, light jacket and comfortable clothing. I guess my big question is how can I affored for my son to paly ll baseball on a very tight budget? I really want my son to be able to do this because this is his first sport ever to try out for and I really want to support him in this.

this site is brand new, but if you get in now listing is free, and you may be able to unload some of your used kids sports items.. its a site all about kids so your audience is targeted. MyUniformExchange.com

We have a "Play It Again Sports" Store in our area. They sell used sports equipment. Maybe you have something like that in your area? Or maybe online like EBay or Craiglist for the cleats or the glovet?. I totally understand what you mean and even after you buy all the equipment you need gas to get there & you will probably have to bring drinks & a snack once in awhile. And I know with my son, he's wanted to play certain sports & didn't end up liking them. I always make him finish out the season, but it seems so wasteful. But on that note if he turns out not to like playing maybe you can sell some of his stuff he won't use again to get a little of your money back. I hope you find a way for him to play though, it really is such a good experience all around for them :)

I don't think they are asking you to buy anything that isn't appropriate. It's like that in every sport. You might have thought that your fee (which must have been well over $100 if you thought things would be supplied) would cover all his equipment. Umpires are very expensive, fields have to be rented, team equipment like bats and balls have to be purchased. Go to second hand shops in your area and see if you can find some of the equipment he needs. Comfortable clothes and hats are pretty inexpensive at Walmart. I understand how difficult it is, I have 3 children in sports and it's pricey but it's worth cutting back on other things to let them play sports.

Well my site is not quite to the buying point we are trying diligently to get folks to list their items to sell so there will be a great variety for those who want to buy... I know that when my daughter was in t-ball we sent out an email to our friends and got a lot of it second hand for free...
