Maybe try having him sit on the potty while it is closed and he is dressed. Then you could do something fun like a story. When he'll do that you could try with no diaper but still closed, and do something fun. Then you could try with it open. We would do peek-a-boo with the lid too. I know, odd, but whatever makes them willing to try is worth it IMO.

I am going through the same dilemma now with my son who is turning 4 next month. He rebels and forgets to go poo in the toilet. He wears a nappy at night...

I am the world's worst potty trainer ... I swear with my daughter I all but gave up and decided that the peer pressure would get to her in junior high school and she'd learn then!

That being said, I made a lot of mistakes training my eldest son. I went a little mental. I started when he wasn't ready and I made potty time a high pressure event. he was four and a half before he stopped having accidents.

With my daughter I was better. I relaxed and showed her what to do, talked to her about it, had her 'train' all her baby dolls and waited. It was nearly a year from when I first introduced the potty until she was trained. I do have to say though, when she decided to do then she did it with virtually no accidents. She was seven months past her third birthday.

With the youngest he did not get it until we started letting him pee standing up. Getting him to poop on the potty was very difficult. He was 'pee' trained by the time he was three but almost four before he mastered pooping.

Just relax, don't get panisked over nursery school, if he's not trained then don't send him. He may not be ready. Let him do something he enjoys while's on the potty (Dude like to brish his teeth so he got to brush his teeth on the potty or move the potty to the TV room).

Don't worry ... he'll get it eventually!

Maybe go and buy him the potty that sings when you flush it or a potty you can put somewhere else instead of the restroom....the adult toilet may be a little intimidating for him....good luck!
