My daughter just turned four. I have tried plastic pants, getting up every couple of hours, and no water after 6 pm. She is still having accidents. Should my next step be talking to her pediatrician, or am I pushing the issue? I just don't want to have her in diapers/pull-ups for another year

My pediatrician told me not to worry unless my child is still wetting the bed after 8. Some kids develop their bladder sensor later than others. If you don't want to buy pull-ups/diapers, just have a plastic sheet. Sometimes the feel of the wet sheets will wake them up and help train them. What's working with my SS right now is rewards for dry nights. When he is dry for one night, he gets credits. When he is dry for a whole week he can cash in those credits for something cool he wants. If he is dry for a whole month, we'll buy him a new bed. So far it seems to be working and he's only wet the bed twice this month (and even then, only a little). Good luck with the training!

Yes don't push it that is a hard concept to learn. just no late drinks and potty before bed helps but it is something that will have to click on its own. Monica is right ped. won't do anyting at that age. Good luck

I have a 3 1/2 year old daughter and a 7 year old son and I make sure they go potty before going to bed and its been like that for weeks with no accidents!!!!!! Try this and see if it works! Good luck :)

You are going to have to wait it out. Most pediatrictians this day are not concerned with this and won't recommend anything until they are 9 or 10. At which time, they will recommend an alarm that will wake them. Every child develops differently and if she is a sound sleeper, waking up is just not something that will be easy for her.
