Our family is moving to a new town. I'm looking for any tips on helping my two sons with the transition to new house and school. Thanks!

We have had to move our two boys several times due to nature of my husbands job. The best thing I do is let them be a part of the process. I take them to visit the town we are moving to before the move. While there we visit the school and any other place that they may spend a lot of time. We also let them be part of the packing process so they know that their things are in safe place and on the moving van. The boys rooms are among the first things to be unpacked and put together to help them begin to feel at home. I hope this help. Good luck a move is never easy.

The very best thing I did for my girls is that I contacted the school they would be attending adn asked their new teachers to e-mail them. Both teachers were thrilled and even had new classmates write. Both teachers sent pictures of their classes. We sent a picture of our daughters so their classmates knew what they would look like before we got here. By the time we arrived, both girls already had friends and were comfortable with the move. We also accessed the town's webcams and looked at pictures of the town nightly to see what to expect. We read the town newspaper online. We contacted our new church and our religious education director.
