I am definatly NOT getting the flu or the swine flu shot for me or for my son (7). The CDC does not reccommend it yet nor do they know the effectiveness or saftey of it. Plus, the shot has medals and mercury in it. Also, it is basically the same as the flu shot but just a different variation. Good luck with this decision!!

my family and i will NOT be getting the vaccine, i have never had any kind of flu shot in my life, nor have my children, i have had the flu twice, not a bad record for 31 years. my belief is that if you have a healthy immune system then it is something you do not need. i am scared of the new vaccine, i don't think there has been extensive enough testing done to consider it safe.

I feel the same way. My son is 2 and I just don't trust it. Who knows what's in that vaccine. I personally wouldn't do it unless my son had some underlying condition. If my son is sick, I take him immediately to the dr. so if there is anything wrong, he will be taken care of immediately. I hope this helps a little! :-)

the H1N1 vaccine is made with dead virus. not much chance of that making a person sick. I've also had H1N1 myself. Its a bad flu, but so far there have been no more deaths from H1N1 than from regular flu. (told to me by my doctor)

It has not been properly tested, please don't do it. Don't believe all of the hype, the H1N1 flu is not anymore lethal than the regular flu!

You should also think about this the swine flu vaccine uses a mercury based stablizer. i refused to let my sons have the shot. i have a 5 year old and 3 year old who both got the swine flu and all we did is watch them for complications and make sure my youngest son got his asthma treatments. it was no worse then the flu.

There is no way I would allow my children to get the vaccine. The last time this flu went around and they had a vaccine for it the vaccine was worse than the flu. Caused all sorts of problems from in. Who knows if something like that will happen again or when. 5 yrs from now we will all be watching the news freaking out because something went wrong with it. Not a chance Im willing to take. Happened once why take that chance on the second time around??

talk to your own doctor and get information about it. if you still don't feel comfortable with the shot than don't have your son get it. just tell him that he needs to make sure that he washes his hands alot, cover the mouth when sneezing and coughing, etc. i also bought those little samples of hand santitizers and sent them to school with the kids and so far been having good luck.

I am def not letting me or my family get the H1N1 vaccines. What do they know about these vaccines? not much in my opinion.. There is a long list of do not get this medicine if...I have posted it in the welcome to circle of mom message about this subject. the mist is a LIVE version of the H1N1 flu, the shot is inactive but I still think it is too new and too risky to let my family get it. Plus they don't even know the long term side effects.

The information I received and posted on in another forum was from the health department in the county I live in, I'm in NC.

I got my 2 year old vaccinated for H1N1 yesterday and he is fine. No side effects or anything. I owuld rather have him get the shot than get the flu...

My family had already had H1N1 back in July... all 6 of us! Honestly it was just like any other strain of the flu. We of course went to the doctors and just watched the children's fevers, kept them hydrated, and we were completely back to normal within a week. I don't see any reason to vaccinate for something unless absolutely necessary. If your son has a good immune system and no lung problems ie: asthma, don't chance it. They are always recalling things and it's not worth something worse occurring for something that is "just in case" Also since April the fatality rate for H1N1 is around 1000 compared to the typical flu that claims around 30000 a year. We are now waiting for the regular flu vaccine to come in and only my youngest who has a weaker immune system and myself will be getting it.

I agree.. My i have taken the regluar flu shot and so has my son... So im alright with that vaccine.. but for they to push the point of rushing to take the H1N1 is a no no.. so amny thing's can go wrong that it scares the crap out of me.. i rather just stick to the regular flu shot than chance anything happening godforbid

Thank you dear.. yes im just glad im not the only one worried about this.. My son's 5 an they are trying to bombard us with papers on it an to rush us to fill it out to have our kids vaccinated.. I'm alright with the regular flu shot because its been out for so long and its been tested and retested but this H1N1 Crap is definitely to new
