In need of advice?? My 9 year old wrote a new years resolution in which she mispelled a word. Her substitute teacher thought it was funny and read it out loud to the class. Everyone laughed at my daughter. Did I mention he did not read any of the other students resolutions, just my daughters. He then took his cell phone out and took a picture of it. My daughter got off the bus and was already in tears. I am livid. I phoned the school to set up an appointment w/the principal but he was already gone. It was friday and they told me to call back monday to set up an appointment. I want to do this right, so ny insight anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated. What this teacher did to my child was wrong. She has not only been ridiculed infont of her class mates, but why did he take the picture. He was a young teacher she said. I can only imagine this is being put on facebook or instagram. My daughters name is on this paper. Please help!

If you can. Have a meeting with the principal and the instructor. Let the teacher know how upset and hurt your child was. Ask him to apologize in front of the class for embarrasing her. Ask the principal to inform the instuctor that it's against the law for the teacher to take pictures on his own personal phone and remove this information from the school. I don't know if your daughter's school has to sign a form of release for pictures with all the registration forms when school began. I would read over this form again. One of my son's teacher's did the same thing stating that my son was disrupting the class and the principal made him erase the pictures infront of him. Good Luck.

I know I would've been LIVID. Good thing you had the weekend to cool off. Refer to your child's school policy on bullying and harassment. If the protocols and consequences are right in front of them, they can't sweep it under the the rug. Please let us know how it all worked out...

I would continue to call, if not go in and find out what is going on!! Do NOT let this go, if the principal is no help, I would consider changing schools. You know whats right and wrong for your child. It took my husband and I a week to get a hold of the principal, so we went in! Be persistent.

Awwww poor kids I'd be livid too. I'd be glad of the weekend because I'd need time to calm down so I could handle it right. I would imagain this teacher is going to get in to a lot of trouble.
