Hi I am a mum of twin girls who are 7 and a son who is 14. My daughter has seen RANDS and have said she has Aspergers. We have just see CAMHS on Monday and confirmed she has asperges. We have nothing in black and white yet.She really struggles going to sleep at night as she says its boring. We do bath, reading and she has an antihistamine of 3mg a night to help her calm down and go sleep. It still can be 10-11pm at night sometimes. Is there anything I give her or ask the doctor for to help.

My oldest son has been having sleep issues lately. He is 9 yrs old and tells me he is not tired or his brain will not stop thinking.
My middle son is 7 1/2 and ends up taking a nap in the middle of the day or when he gets home from school. So he had problems sleeping too.
Because of my husband walking out on us last year in March and my 3 boys have been experiencing different levels of depression and/or anger towards him and his girlfriend. And to add fuel to the fire I lost my job of 18 years two months after he left. I was finally able to get them counseling (my husband was giving a hard time) and my oldest was diagnosed with depression and my middle one is thought to have ADHD.
So I my oldest has GHD and has to take an injection every night of growth hormone until he reaches puberty. It is important that I let any doctor know what he takes since we do not want side effects or reactions. I hate giving him more meds if I have an alternative. I asked his psychiatrist if there was something natural I can give him. He said melatonin. I found it in a liquid form at Walgreens (5 mg/ dose and lemon flavored too) so I didn't have to deal with the pill swallowing complaints. He weighs about 48 lbs and the doctor said he should get about 4 mg dose if he needs it to go to sleep.
My middle son weighs around 70 - 75 lbs and he told me to give him the 5 mg dose.
It take 40 - 50 min to work and it is natural. And if you think you will really be using it, Walgreens has it on sale for 2/$11.99 or 1/$9.99.

It worked for my boys and they didn't even mind the taste.
I hope this helps....
