My 4 year old visited the dentist yesterday and was not a happy camper. Does anyone have any good ideas to help him be a bit more "dentist friendly"?

Thank you for the feed back.... My son did visit a pediatric dentist that we absolutely LOVE. The staff was very good with him, but he would not have any part of the cleaning. I agree that we will just have to take it very slow. A terrified four year old is not what I'm looking for.

I agree with Monica. Our son visited the dentist for the first time at age 3. He was a little nervous, but because we were at a pediatric dentist, they knew not to push him. We only did a few things, including the cleaning, and then they scheduled the rest of the exam stuff at the next visit. He does aweome now! I would just take it slow and definitely find a pediatric dentist if you don't have on already. Best to make this the most positive experience possible so he doesn't have anxiety about going later in life. :) Best of luck!

Are you going to a pediatric dentist? Usually their offices are more kid friendly, as are the staff.
