If my 12-month-old had let me feed her anything, I'd have been extremely surprised :D She never would eat anything she couldn't pick up and shove into her mouth herself.

Now is as good a time as any. Make sure they are finger foods or cut the food you eat into bite size pieces put it on her tray and I bet she will love it. My 12 month old feeds himself he refused to at first now he wants to eat whenever he can.

you're lucky you have the choice! My daughter absolutely refused to let me put a thing in her mouth at about 10 months, she insisted on doing everything herself! It was very challenging...

I guess it depends on what food she has in front of her. I have have three kids (6,4 and 2) and my middle child was always more independent than the others. As long she wont choke on on the food then let her go and experience the joy of wonderful food. (yay masterchef!) I can also undertstand the anxiety with child #1 I was not as relaxed.

Fantastic! You have the beginnings of an idependent, intelligent child. Try finger foods and let her feel what it is like to be good at something!
