Hi Amanda, I am a primary school teacher and absolutely love bringing the most fantastic books to my classroom and my oown children. If I am unsure I always go for the good authors, Mick Inkpen, Julia Donaldson, Nick Butterworth, Colin McNaughton and anything made by Walker books has to reach a certain level of excellence in childrens literature. Hope this helps, if you are still in dooubt take the children to a book shop with you and siit wiith them with a selection and see which they want to share. Stories dont always have to have a moral or represent how we should behave, they are fun, escaapism and the doorway to fantastic lands, pirate adventures and magical creatures...have fun xxx

I look for books that have positive storylines, i.e dr.seus' the places you will go, I also look for things that can teach my daughter someting, and books that are full of animals (b/c she loves them) and the main thing I look for is age appropriatness
