Was wondering what the average time mums were putting their kids to bed these days. I am wondering if all my three kids should have the same bed time or different due to age???

What time for 10yr?

what time for 8yr?

What time for 3yr?

Let me know your opinion.......Thanks!

Hi. Their bedtimes should depend on their bodies' clocks. My oldest was singled out at the hospital for never sleeping. That stupid nurse cursed us because he hasn't needed much sleep ever (9 yo now). lol The youngest, 6 now, was kind enough to be more "normal" but they both need less sleep from the average doctors' recommendations. I judge how much sleep and therefor when to put them to sleep based on crankiness. Currently they both go to bed at 8. Add a 1/2 hour for books and prayers. They get up and play relatively quietly between 4:30 and 5:30. I'd love for them to sleep in but I've pushed off their bedtimes to 9 or further and they still get up that early but they're monsters during the day. So 8 is good for us. Push it earlier or later until you get a time you can live with without wanting to strangle them at bedtime. When I was growing up we always had different bedtimes for the different ages, but so far we haven't differentiated.

I BELIEVE THE BABY SHOULD GO TO BED MUCH SOONER THAN THE OTHER TWO. THE BABY SHOULD GO TO BED AROUND 730 OR 8. THE OTHER TWO NO LATER THAN 930.

8 pm for everyone. i have 2 almost 7's and a 2yo. they'll have the same bedtime until the older kids are in high school or so and have more homework. otherwise, they need their rest, so we enforce bedtime fairly strictly.

Well I have a 7, 3 and 5 month old . I try to keep the two older ones on the same schedule. They are in bed every night during the week by 830pm. I do let my oldest child get in about 20 extra minutes of reading time. But in my opinion I would make them all go into their rooms at the same time. Let the two older ones read, or whatever they do give each one 15-20 mins of personal time then lights out.
For a 3 year old I think the appropriate time is about 830.
8 and 10 years old 830 but you can give them 15 mins of personal time to themselves. That way after 830 its your time to relax.

my vote...different times. there are certain perks that come with age at my house.even if it a half hour with the 8 and 10 year old. 3yrs old 7-8pm

You should definately have a couple different times...depending on what time you get up in the morning the 3 year old should be getting 12-14 hours of sleep a day according to most doctors...of course nap time counts in there too. My 5 year old doesn't take a nap during the day since he started school. He goes to bed at 7 and we get up early at 6am...not quite 12, but it is working for him. The 8 & 10 year old probably only need about 10 hours although I don't know for sure b/c I haven't researched that age group yet. Consistency however is the key for all age groups. Staying up late on the weekend should not be more than 1 -2 hours later than they normally stay up. Your body gets into routines called circadian rhythms and when it isn't consistent it can cause behavior or attention problems.

My opinion I would probably put them to bed at the same time to make it fair but on school night I would say at 830 thats what time my 6 year old goes to bed, on the weekend I let him stay up later.hope this helps

well my 5 year old goes to bed at 2000 my 16 month old goes to bed at 1900 and they sleep thru the night till like 0700 so. but for a 10 year old i would go with around 2100. well but thats just me i dont kow what other ppl would do. my mom lets her kids up on the weekends as logn as they want and under the week till around 2200 but depends on what age. i guess its also depends on the kids if they like to sleep long or if they just need like 8 hours of sleep.
