My 6 year old is constantly saying he wants to be older than he is so that he can "do everything." he says. :( My hubby and i have both told him to enjoy being a kid because the years are flying by and one day he will be older like he wants to be, and he'll look back and want to be this kid again. I think a lot of it comes from us not having a lot of money for extra activities, so when he gets older, he thinks he'll be able to do more. It makes me sad, but at the same time, i don't want to be one of those moms who is rushing around to a million activities outside the house, and not having true quality time together as a family.

I'm excited that my kids are growing up. I very much enjoyed their baby years (my kids are 4&6), but every new age comes with new adventures and questions.

I have this tendency to call my daughter "baby girl" (she's 4)...but more out of a nickname than because I want her to be a baby. I constantly tell her she's a big girl because she does tend to act like a baby in her tantrums. My hubby doesn't like me calling her "baby girl" because of that reason, but I like to explain to my kids that no matter what age they are, no matter how big they get, they will always be my babies. :)

I wish my baby would grow up. she does not realise she is constantly draining my energy when she plays baby, and am clueless on how to manage this.
