My daughter-in-law's baby shower is in two weeks and I'm in charge of party favors. I need a relatively inexpensive craft idea , as I love to craft. If all else fails I will buy one of those prepackaged baby bottles and fill with candy, but looking for something more imaginative and worthy of giving at the shower. Expecting approximately 20 people and we do not know the sex of the baby. Any ideas?

For the baby showers that I have done I have collected baby food jars. If you don't have babies then you can ask moms you know or check craigslist or freeshare sites. Anyway, clean them out of course and then glue pretty ribbons around them and then type up a saying or just the baby's name on cardstock and cut it out to fit around the ribbon (make sure it is thinner than the ribbon so the ribbon still shows). Then add a small candle inside. Everyone loves these...especially those closest to the baby.

There are lots of great ideas on the web that you can create from!! This time last year my friend was becoming a grandmom for the first time so I wanted to make her favors "special". I found some after christmas sales on the clear christmas balls, filled them with some tulle and then added a ribbon and glued a flower to the top. With a maker made for glass, I wrote "Thank You" on one side and on the other Love, (Mom's name) and Baby along with the date. They were easy, inexpensive and this year everyone said they used the ornament on their tree. Since you will be closer to Valentines day, you could also do something with that theme. Don't settle for the same old things. Use your imagination!!

I love the last post about the cookies and goes great with the suggestion I had....get some clear "chinese take-out boxes? and decorate the front of it with scrapbook paper/flowers/baby shower embelishments etc. They turn out SUPER cute! oh and some ribbon! Have fun and good luck!
