can i preserve my pictures?

Hi, my name is Ann. I love scapbooking and pictures and most of all scrapbooking my 5 year olds school and church projects.

We had a house fire a few months ago...it destroyed most of my pictures, but I couldn't quite bring myself to throw them out. Some of them are irreplacable. A person can still tell who or what in the pics, but i'm not sure with them having some damage, if it's ok to use some of the glue, ink, or whatever else there is to use in scrapbooking? I don't want to cause any more damage to them. Any advice would be appreciated.

I agree with the people who said to scan them! Heritage Makers offers GREAT scanning services and I can put you in contact with a local consultant who can help you scan them with a high speed scanner that's made for old or damaged pictures.
You could also try taking them to a local photography store such as Ritz or something like that. They should be able to help you with saving some of the origional photographs too. You can always preserve them digitally as well! I can not speak for every company but I know with Creative memories, they guarantee that all of their products are 100% safe to use with photos and will not damage them in any way! They are the only company I know that offers a money back product guarantee. They sell adhesive and lignon and acid free paper.....lignon is just as important as acid free. Hi Ann perhaps if you have access to a scanner, scan them in and that way you can do the necessary adjustments and save them onto a cd or memory stick and then print them out. Where these photos digital to begin with or the normal 35mm. If you still have your 35 mm negatives you can have them put onto a cd it's a bit expensive or least in this country it is but it can be done.
