Yes, this is a pet peeve of mine too.   I think it is even worse as a consultant expecially if it is something that Creative Memories sells.   My husband & mom know to ask.   In those times, I make them a list and send him to my Stampin Up consultant - makes it easier for everyone:)

Sorry to hear that your consultant dropped the ball with you. I know that most of us consultants have sent out many emails/calls on this subject. Even though Creative Memories told us the end to their non-true 12x12 was coming, many people were taken by surprise like you. Sorry for that.

As for feeling overwhelmed on now having to spend the money and completing these 8 albums......

First of, I think you should get a new consultant who can better meet your needs and get you the appropriate information in a timely manner.

Secondly, don't let this paralyze you in your scrapbooking. These albums do not need to be finished this week and I"m sure that you will be able to find what you need to finish these 8 albums. I have also heard, but not tested that the true 12 x 12 pages fit in the old album, but that there is a little overhang. That may be an option if you are ok with that - AGAIN I HAVE NOT TESTED THAT MYSELF.

Also, maybe some of your scrapping buddies would be happy to buy on of your non true albums. This would help cover the cost of some of your pages and protectors and get you transitioned to the True 12x12. But if you are happy with the colors of you not true 12x12 coversets, maybe you could get some of the Creative Memories Power Palettes to speed up the process:)

Although, I do think that you should figure out what pages/protectors you will now, just remember that you eventually were going to have to buy these things (just not all at once). And remember why you are doing this and just enjoy the process!

Thank you everyone for all your suggestions.

I found a wonderful UL Leader with Creative Memories that is helping me out and she only lives in the next town which is great for me. She has found a way for me to save a little money and get some rewards from it also.

I would love to scrapbook with anyone of you ladies anytime. I love hearing new idea and sharing them.

You can also keep them in a special place( the unwanted supplies) and have a crop with your friends ( not the ones that gave you the stuff) then have a table of give aways. People put on the table things they don't want and anyone at the crop can take from the table. An album is a bit much for that but again you can use things like that for projects that don't matter as much to you. An end of year album for a teacher, an album for a young scrapbooker to start out on, or a place to keep all your scrapbooking idea photos. Don't forget to try and make into your conversations with these friends that you only use CM products because they are safe for your photos. Obviously not right after they give you something but in everyday conversation...Oh you should scrapbook with me. I love CM products and use them religiously because they are safe for my photos...Good Luck!

My suggestion is to sell your albums on Ebay and start over with the new size. I have found Ebay to be very competitive price wise but check out what is selling first if you are unsure. I found it to be worth the time to list. Since you got them on sale it might not be too difficult to get your money back if not more. People buy albums, pages and all kinds of other CM products on Ebay. Then you can buy what you need and not worry about running out of supplies. OR you can keep what you have and when CM runs out go to Ebay...although I'm sure the prices will be high if CM is out of stock. Good Luck in whatever you decide to do. It's a shame your consultant wasn't on the ball or honest about what was about to happen.

I use up that stuff when making cards.  I won't put anything in my books that I don't know is safe.  But the occasional sticker might have made it in - the great thing about our pages is the buffering so any acid won't leach over to my pics.  Also, now that I sell it, no one buys me other albums, just the occasional sticker/paper.  If I got any albums, I'd probably let my 5 year old use them.  Or donate them to a kids place.

Yeah, as you can see from the website info, the difference is just the size of the two edge-protectors - about 1/2 inch.  The height is the same, and the tabs are in the same place as the old ones.  So the old pages can go into a new album (there will just be a little more depth to the album cover than you need) but that the new pages will be too deep/wide for the old album covers.  However, I do have one customer that is still going to use new pages in an old album - they may stick out the side a bit when the album cover is closed, but she's not worried.  She's got some old pages left over, but not enough for a full album, and doesn't want to buy another pack of old size and then not use them up.  So her album will have both - if that doesn't bother you, it might be an option too.

Hi Linda

I spoke with my CM consultant and I asked her about tape runner she said only sale is 10x12 cardstock but she said $130.00 she did say I could order on line.

I live in Canada so the tape runner must be offered in the US.

I looked at the  cm website I didn't see the tape runner sale.

If you look at the rest of these posts I still have to count all my pages in all my albums.

Once I have a final count then I am going to plan my order plan so I am not hit with $500.00 all at once.

And don't be afraid to mix it up - I just make sure I use background paper for the layout as I'm switching from one color to the next, so you don't even notice the transition. Just something to consider since you'll be getting so many pages...

Marina mentioned asking about a sale - as far as consultants know, the current bundle is the only deal/sale. That could possibly change. But for now you can contact your consultant (or me) and we could maybe work out a deal to help you out - similar to hosting...see what kind of rewards we can work out...
I'm so glad you're using our products - I'm sure you know how great they are! And the good news is that in the future our pages will fit with other products so you can easily mix and match other papers etc. I know that's not much consolation for you now, but after those 8 books you have are finished... lol. :-)

The 8 albums that I do have are going to be: Two of them baby albums two are family ablums,two are my older son albums continued from his baby albums, two are family tree albums. So I am going to order white for most.

I live in Canada and the special is if you order $130.00? dallors of product you get card stock and cm consultant said I could do this on line as you ladies have said.

I live in this new  town for 3 years don't know every many ladies that scrapbooks or would like to start scrapbook. So a party wouldn't work for me.

Right now I am looking at 16 pages and 16 page proctors. But I have some unfinished album and I need about 80 page protectors and still counting.

The reason i have so many pages with out protectors is I was doing journaling.

Well I have four boxes of scrapbooking to go through as we where planning to move again so I pack up my scrapbooking items so the movers don't touch my stuff.

I am really hoping that all my pages and protectors are in my albums and that I don't have to many loose items.

Once I have a final count I will write back again and see what my damage is going to be. I have worked it out to about $500.00 before taxes so far.

I think I will order some pages and proctors now for the 8 albums I do have but not all at once.

I will order maybe about $100.00 or so dallors to get this first sale. The one thing that is nice I didn't buy all the albums most were gifts.

Hi Marina - not sure if you're following this, but to repeat...  You can also take advantage of the online ordering.  That way you don't have to wait to see your consultant.  The order can now come shipped right to your door.  And it's the same shipping cost .  I love this new(ish) feature because I've got several customers that are over 2 1/2 hours away from me, and they can order anytime.  :-)
