Hi what do you think of this for a fathers day gift... make hubby his favorite breakfast, then go for walk with family at park and have little picnic with snacks and maybe a beer or wine for hubby. Then take kids to visit parents... give dad a gift...leave kids there for couple hours...take hubby home, order movie http://www.amazon.com/Fathers-Day-Gifts-... maybe something rated R, then a little somethin to let him know how much i appreciate him,...then pick up the kids.

Michelle, how old is your daughter? My daughter just turned a year on Mother's Day and hasn't really gotten into doing fun crafts yet, but I can't wait until when she does! I love working on stuff like that, but I want to wait until she can get more involved. I used to work at a day care in the infant room and the lead teacher drove me nuts because she would make art projects 'with' the kids for the parents but the kids would be taking a nap while she made them. If it involved their hand prints she would put the paint on their hand and then just stamp it on to whatever, but really they weren't involved at all. I haven't really tried her on any crayons or anything in a while, she tends to put everything in her mouth (like many other babies,) so I'm a little resistant. Absolutely great ideas though! I wish you could post pictures on here because I would love to see them. Do you have any blogs or anything?

I don't "buy" gifts for Father's Day. My hubby would much rather get hand made gifts. So for his first Father's Day (last year) I bought a scrapbook frame from Michaels, and took a picture of our daughter holding a sign that said "I love my Daddy", I blew up the picture and then scrapbooked it with the heading "Happy First Father's Day". He loved it! This year I'm running a home daycare, so we're making a "Bait Box". The kids are all painting them and then I will write the word BAIT on the front, with a "fishing rod" on the top and we're filling them with goodies for everyone's Daddy. Then I am also doing a canvas art thing with my daughter. She is going to put handprints all over the canvas then I am going to write a really cute poem I found on it. She is also making a coffee mug. Her Daddy is a big coffee drinker, so I found this mug at Walmart last night that came with special marker's for her to colour the cup with. I'm sure he'll love his gifts!

I know its late, but i just joined and saw this post so thought id reply anyway!

When my sons father had his first fathers day, we were fairly short on funds so I made most of his. I sent daddy out for the day and did some 'painting' with my son (who was about 2 months old at the time). I got prints of his hands and feet and then put them into a cheap photo frame that id bought with 3 photo areas in it. In the third part I put daddys favourite picture of him and josh together. He LOVED it. Its become abit of a tradition now for his fathers day: Hand/foot prints and a picture of some sort...

You cut out the shape of a Large Neck Tie.Take copies of pictures of her and your honey and decorate the Tie. Place it on cute paper and past a poem (you can google fathers day poems and find cute ones) on the back. Laminate and he has a special bookmark.

I think it would be a cute baby to dad gift if you found out what hid favorite book was when he was a kid, and then remake it scrapbook-style with pictures and memoirs from you and him and baby! Or make up your own story decorate each page like a scrapbook page! Also, my sister last year for father's day took her twin boys to JCPenney for a special photo day they were having with little harleys and the boys wore jeans and wife beaters with little harley davidson tattoos! They were so cute! Good luck and let us know what you decide on!

A few years ago I did a project with my son for a Father's Day gift. I placed footprints on the outer sides of the paper and in the middle was a little poem about following in daddy's footprints. If you would like this poem, send me an email and I will forward it to you. Email: patty@bookyourphotos.com

One year I made my hubby a small digital book. I included favorite pictures of him with the kids, baby pictures, fishing. I then traced each childs hand, had them write their name, and date them.

I'm making a paper album from Creative Memories. It comes with all the paper, photo mats, stickers etc that you need, and you can even record a voice. I made one for his first father's day after our son was born, and this is two years later. But the voice thing is new so I'm excited to give it to him!

this kinda depends on what he is into...this year I'm getting my hubby tickets to a baseball game for him and his dad and our son (who just turned 1) - but my hubby loves baseball and hasn't been to a game (professional) since before I got pregnant with our son...for mother's day this year, my hubby had professional pics done of me with our son, which I absolutely loved - you could do the same with him and your baby...you could arrange a special "date night" with him to celebrate with dinner and ____ (fill in the blank with something he enjoys - like a movie, a show, etc.). I have to admit, the most I did last year for his first father's day was make him breakfast, then we just spent the day together as a family...
