I have been scrapbooking for over 10 years. I am just going back now to finish off a page there, journaling here. I am all the way back in to 2006! Before kids I could develop the pictures and have them in my album by the end of the week!

How is everyone feeling about where they are scrapbooking from?

Not 100% sure where I am, my daughter has just turned 2 & she doesn't have a scrapbook as of yet but I have all her photos organised into a folder on my computer with all the journalling & stories written in word to match the correct photos & have sketches & layouts listed in order so I can just make what I want when I have time, so not sure if that makes me up too far behind but it's all there before I forget when baby number 2 arrives in 6weeks Ahhhhh hahaha
Yes I've started already doing the same for baby number 2 as well - And nope don't want to do digital as much as everyone keeps telling me it'd be so much easier, I just love the traditional scrapbooking better, more my style (everything is too digital in our worlds today)

I've been scrapbooking on and off since I was 12 and I have only completley finished 1 scrapbook and that was from showing calves my Sr yr...but I've completed lots of LO's...My list of albums to complete:

My Jr year

My Sr year

My sorority/college album

My Hubby & My Dating Album

Our Wedding Album

My Son's first year (he's 2)

Start my son's toddler years

My daughter's first year (she's 4 months)

An "our family album (that one will never be finished lol)

An album in my moms memory

An animal (pet) album

**of course when it's that time added to this list will be my daughter's toddler years :P

LOTS of albums and right now very little time to work on them *sigh*

My answer-VERY behind.

I don't scrap chronologically as I find it way too restrictive. I scrap what photos or stories inspire me at the time. I do store them chronologically though. My favourite albums are ring binder types as they allow for easier swapping around of pages.
I don't feel as though I am behind I just feel as though I'm doing what I can when I can and getting the memories down.
My youngest daughter is 7 months old though and I haven't scrapped one page for her yet. I do feel bad about that.

It is impossible to be caught up if you are a full on scrapbooker, so as long as my kids books are up to date (I consider up to 12 months behind, up to date), then i am ok with it. I don't want to sweat it, or it takes the fun out of it all!!

Well, Like you I have been scrapbooking on and off for awhile, sometimes more off than on so I have patches of our lives that are great. I have 3 kids and have been married for 12.5 years. I am up to date on the 2007-2010. 1998-2006 is splotchy at best, and I'm working on 2011. Right now my plan is to go present time forward and work back as I can. I have converted to working digitally as it goes faster for me that way. I do still love to make traditional pages, but I am not a fan of my handwriting, so when I teach scrapbooking classes, we make traditional books, otherwise, I am a digital fan! I actually just taught a cute little kids class at the start of the summer and had 5 kids making little 6x6x 2010 books for the school year. That was a great class!

If you would be interested in finding out about a new digital scrapbooking program offered by Stampin Up! called My Digital Studio, I have more information on my blog and website at http://scrapingandstamping.blogspot.com/...

I think of the digital programs I have tried, this is one of the easiest to use out of the box. It integrates well with other digital content, and updates come out every Tuesday and are relatively inexpensive, sometimes free, but ranging from .99 to 15.00. The output options are great! I can export pages, print at home, create digital slideshows, DVD, and video or music, and do all sorts of fun things to share my finished books. I also use it to create flyers and handouts for church, and make cards, journals, calendars, etc... so much more than just conventional scrapbooking.

Hope this helps! Any questions, email me!

Now have 5 grandkids & still not caught up! I don't feel bad as I have a sister that is behind also (w/ ONLY 3 kids) & she doesn't work summers>;-)

Oh my goodness, I am 4 years behind schedule. I never find time to scrapbook anymore. I keep collecting pictures, papers, stickers, letters, etc... I even bought a craft cart and table to make scrapbooking easier. There aren't enough hours in the day.

And now I feel so overwhelmed with trying to catch up that I don't know where or how to start.

I am always behind... unless I schedule a Saturday crop then my time is very much limited. I have a scrapbook room off my bedroom but it seems to be the dumping ground for all. Sundays I try and clean it out so IF by chance i get time during the week I can go in but that does not happen very often.

I try and do 1 page a day as i am a stay at home mom who homeschools so when the kids don't need my help i look at the pictures and figure out what i want to do. My kids help with the housework and soon I won't beable to do much of anything since i am having surgery oct 1 and will be sitting so i will be doing more scrap booking while my hubby helps the kids so I can get well....

It's a hobby. Wish I had time but realistically I don't. I've started many for friends as gifts and add empty pages for them. I have 1 started for my daughter's first born (not even close to 1/2y and he's 4...and now has a 2yr old)..my son wants me to do one for him and I can't even complete my own...life. It'll be waiting for me just like the house work.

My son's birthday party was 8/15 and I just finished his pages. The only way I could even imagine staying ontop of scrapping my three kids is to do it digitally. I've been scrapping for almost 15 years now, all three kids books are pretty much up to date. There's no way with two toddlers running around I could enjoy paper scrapping anymore. I scrap during nap times and after they go to bed and it's all in my lap.

I get anxious thinking about how behind I am. My son is almost three and I'm still not finished with his 2nd year pages. Not to mention I want to do an every day picture scrapbook. Ya right.. I just don't have the time. I get the urge to do it in the daytime but I've either got my son here or I have to many 'domestic duties' to do, I always say ok tonight I am going to spend a couple hrs and get at it, but by that time I'm exhausted and the last thing I want to do is get everything out sit for a bit and then have to put it all away Ug! I need a scrapmeet so I can spend an entire guilt free day catching up.

hi Ladies
I haven't scrapbooked for three years now just getting back into things.
I have been scrapbooking for 19 years now. I love Creative Memories Albums. I am behind at lease 6 years. I don't know if I will ever get caught up. I am up to date on photo editing and have kept my journeying in a calendar for each year. I am sure I forgot something along the line. I plain on scrapbooking at least twice a week this winter is my plan.
I also plan on doing as many power lay outs as possible. So I can get caught up a bit.
Happy Scrapping Everyone!

I am no where near caught up. I have a wedding album to start (from our wedding 8 years ago) and am working on our 3 kids albums - with my oldest I am about 2 years behind, my middle son I am about 3 years behind and my daughter I am about 2.5 years behind. I also have a family album that seems to be forgotten about. However, I am not saddened by this as my scrapbooking style has changed so much and I much prefer what I do now.

Happy Scrapping

Don't worry about being being "behind" and what ever you do don't stop taking pictures!! Enjoy the process. Enjoy the time spent in the past as you do scrap them and just have fun with the whole process:)

For those that are worried and do feel the pressure (although it is usually self inflicted); stay simple. Add several pictures to a page. Use idea books to speed up the creative process. And for those really feeling the pinch, try a quick kit of predesigned pages. I did a baby album for a shower gift (so no pictures to deal with) and it honestly only took an hour to put the whole album together. Creative Memories has some really nice ones (this is what I used, of course). You can see them on my website www.mycmsite.com/cchaillet.

Happy Scrapping:)

I use 12x12 albums for my family albums. You can fit a lot of pictures in one album. I find they are the easiest to use. Starting with recent pictures is the easiest because the memory is fresh in your mind.

Keep it simple. Several pictures, simple journaling, and some cute but simple embellishments should help you get a couple pages done in an evening!

I am working on my daughter's scrapbook. She was born in January of this year and I am currently finishing up the pictures from March, so that is not too bad. However, I have yet to get my wedding album done and only have a few pictures done for my honeymoon...both took place almost 2 years ago! As I am quickly getting up to speed with my daughter's scrapbook I hope to start sneaking in some pages for the other two major events. Someday I hope to go back through all the pictures I have from living and traveling through Asia from 1997-2000 and transfer them to scrapbooks as well...so many plans!

Quoting Leanne:

My daughter 10.5 months old. I didnt' start scrapbooking until she was probably 5 months old? I am a newbee!! Recently I just celebrated her being "born" in my scrapbook. I do not ever have time to scrap but recently got my daughter on a sched of going to bed at 730 which means I have me time again! my plan though probably not going to happen is to have her caught up by her first birthday so I can have her book at her party for all to see.

The Birthday party idea is wonderful!  I think I might steal it, if that's cool with you!!  As for where I am with scrapbooking:

I still have to do a wedding album (which was 2 years ago) and a honeymoon album (again 2 years ago) Plus my daughter is almost 8 months and I'm on her 3 month photo's!  I really only have one night a week to work on it!  But I think I might try to set a goal for myself and stick to it!  That way I'll get things done!

I have been scrapbooking for over 14 years now. I have 4 kids and I have a great group of friends and their friends.. that I "teach" scrapbooking to... hence my albums get neglected... I am 4 years behind on the family books, and we just got back from Disney in March, so I plan to do a Disney albums as well. The baby books are years behind as well, but at least I either have their photos organized by year in a box or by year on the computer.... so I'm thinking about it! Do I get points for being organized? LOL! Unfortunately, my time is spent with my kids and friends... guess that isn't so bad! :-)

I jokingly say that my daughter and I don't really scrapbook...we just collect scrapbooking supplies! I have 2 grandchildren and hundreds and hundreds of photos I want to scrapbook....just finding and making the time to get started. Usually when I do start I spend more time just sorting through my stuff and organizing than I do working on the actual scrapbook and then it's time to stop and put all the stuff away. I tell my daughter all the time that we need to leave out early one morning and go to Archiver's which is about an hour and half from our home and just spend the day and night scrapbooking in their workroom....sound like sooo much fun!!
