I probably have thirty scrapbooks and am running out of room for them all! If I don't scrap my photo's I feel like they are not "finished" yet. Anybody else have this problem? How many scrapbooks do you have?

I don't think you can have too many! I've done themed books such as Brownies, First Communion, Disney World and am still working on school scrapbooks. I'm on Kindergarten (she's in third grade). Just think of it this way, later on your child will appreciate that you took the time to create wonderful memories for them!

I have 5 scrapbooks. One for each of my three children, one for just my husband and I and a "Milestone Scrapbook" that has all of our children and the important milestones of their lives. I started scrapbooking about four years ago and decided that it was best to try to pick up from current and move back. When my children were young I made special photo albums that contain all of my ultrasounds and baby pictures and stuff of my children's lives. Much like a scrapbook. The kids didn't want their baby albums distrubed. I buy the expansion pegs to maximize space in each scrapbook. When I can't stuff another page in I will buy new ones. But never too many scrapbooks.

I just started scrap booking about 5 years ago and I have about 20 already. I actually have a room for scrap booking so thats where I keep mine, No you can never have to many memories I think.

[deleted account]

I have about 12 finished scrapbooks and probably 4 different ones in the works. No such thing as too many scrapbooks as long as you continue to love making them!!

Well done on completing that many scrapbooks. If you really can't find any room, give some away as gifts. But keep up the great work with all you're scrapbooking. One day when you're old and grey and unable to do any more, you'll appreciate all the effort you went to, and after you're gone, your family will have many priceless memories.

I have 17 for one son and I'm not finished with his all of his yet. I have about 6 or 7 for another son and my youngest, who is 23, sad to say, I haven't started his yet. Plus, I promised 4 other people that they would get scrapbooks for high school graduation gifts. Well, they all have graduated or are graduating from college, and one is getting married already. Can we say, OOPS I'm WAY BEHIND!

I have at least that many! I can't pick just the best pics most of the time! I try to do one for each calendar year, but I ususally end up with more. I also have albums for the two big cruises I went on, trip to Ireland, my kids baby books, 2 wedding albums, portait books for each of my kids! I love to scrapbook and I have close friends that i do it with so someday I'll have tohave my husband make me some built ins for all the books!

Hello.....yes I am also guilty of that. I am in the 20's somewhere and still going strong. Luckily I have built in book shelves so have a place to store them but my husband asks too...when is enough enough....my respose ......when I'm dead! Until then things are happening and I'm taking pictures of it :) I love the weekend when I start with the first one and just go through reliving the great times.

I would love to catch up all my photos to books. Right now I am still in the sorting stage with many---though I have about 3 books done. Something to think about---scrapping does not have to be restricted to books. I have done some "pages" on 12"x12"x1/2" foam to hang on my walls. They look great, are out where we can enjoy them and I am not restricted to frames.....

i havent done sc rap books for all of them i have albums have about 30 pages in. i like to print different sizes to vary the look. i have the two baby albums which have bits from the cards and things as well as pictures in it. then the rest are just albums again varied size pictures but with all sorts in them relevant to the pictures. ie. mu daughters 19th was a luau so i have some threads from a grass skirt and flowers from a lei in. if you take a little while out each time you print pictures you can keep up with them. i have recently in the last 2 albums started scrap booking and love it. wish all my other albums looked like these ones.

A group of me and my friends go once a month to a scrapbooking store in our hometown. Also look for retreats or weekend get-aways that are for scrapbooking. I've also been to a few that are fundraising events.

I have been scrapbooking since I was in 7th grade (age 12 or 13) I am now 26 with 2 kids. I have 19, 5 are all of my daughter and 3 are of my son. I love it, but now with being a full time stay at home mom and I also watch my 18 month old nephew- I can't find the time to sit and work on them. When I do have time, I am so tired that I can't focus. Can anyone help with any advice?

I started printing wallets instead of 4x6's. This way I can get a lot more on a page. It is not uncommon for me to get 9 pics on a page. So a double page spread typically covers an entire event. I will still print a favorite picture larger here and there so that it will get more attention.

well if you can imagine this. my eldest is 21 ans since the day he was born i have had my camera glued to my hand. i have 12 photo albums of everyone since then and another 2 of ancestors and my siblings and i growing up and have 2 of my husbands ancestors and siblings. i also had 6 videos that i recently put onto DVD. you can have as many as you like because they will act as your memory when you are old and cenile ha ha. plus the kids love looking at them and they will inherit them to show their kids when i am gone. i have those nice decorative boxes that i keep them in. each one holds about 7 albums. i was thinking of recovering them with some nice sticky back plastic and putting them on shelves in the hall. they are full of momentos from all occasions as well as pictures from table confetti to invitations and flowers.

So are you saying how many MEMORIES are TOO many MEMORIES.
You can never have enough memories. ALl those scrapbooks are a piece of you, your history and your memories.
This is coming from someone with quite a few scrapbooks and my mom only had about four albums from my childhood, wish she had more, SO think of it that way.

If you or your family enjoy looking thru them and remembering those occassions and everyday events. Then they hold a lot of value and are not too many. My mom would go and develop 20 rolls of film at a time, with no idea what was even on them. We would look at them once and then she would toss them in a firesafe cabnit, still in the envelope they came in. Then when I and my siblings graduated from high school we had a whole cabnit to sift thru for nuggits, most of the pictures we didn't even know who was in them. That was a waist, but I, and those who visit look thru my books all the time. Feel good about the work that you have done and the story you are leaving for your family.

I thought I had a lot. Not so much.
There is no such thing as too many scrapbooks. You could always get rid of the books and put them on those shelves. Don't really need all those dishes so there's extra room there. (grin)

I do one for each year of each of my three kids' life - quite a bit behind of course. Am thinking of maybe stopping at a certain age and then start a family album only but haven't figured out what that age should be - they're 11, 8 and 5 presently. So the 11 year old has 9 so far, the 8 year old has 6 and the 5 year old has 4 for a grand total of 19! Wow...

I have done about 30 of them. I number them with letters of the alphabet which of course I ran out of letters. Most of them are done chronologically. My earliest pictures are relatives from about 1920. It took about 5 years of constant work (and fun) to get caught up to date. I am a 53 year old mom of 2 and grandma of 2.

WoW!!! That's awesome!!!! Some questions....1) Did you do a scrapbook for each child 2) Do you use a cricut, if not, what do you use? 3) Do you ever run out of ideas? Thanks, and yes, more shelves are needed!! I find myself not really knowing how to come up with ideas for my layouts!!

OMG!! I have around 56 and with 5 kids im sure there will be many more, there could never be to many scrapbooks!! I just love it!!

[deleted account]

Never too many!!!!!! I have about 16 albums I am working on, and have plans for at least 10 more. The albums I am working on rotate through my rolling tote and a 16x16 CM shipping box. I display completed albums on a ladder shelf unit, and keep works in progess in my cart/box system. I do digital for certain events, like my son's soccer season, which he keeps in his bookcase. Both of my kids scrap also, so they display their albums in their bedroom bookcases. My hubby plans to "gift" a display case for our wedding items, including the scrapbook. A friend keeps hers on a bookcase, also, with an easel displaying one on her console table. She changes books as the mood strikes her, so guests can view without being overwhelmed. Remember, there is no right or wrong to scrapbooking!!!!! It is what you enjoy, and feel comfortable with. Besides, what else can you do with pics, throw in a box? never to be seen again?? LOL......

i try not to make too many scrapbooks, i like to spend alot alot of time on them, not to mention not everyone is going to lok through so many, itll get old.. when i find myself in ur position i make books for other people! good luck!

[deleted account]

There is no such thing as too many scrapbooks!!!!!!!!! I have probably a dozen or more of various sizes. I have started going digital for some (year in review album and some vacations) and that does cut down on the storage space as they are not as wide as a traditional.

I don't think you can have too many scrapbooks! Congrats on your progress. I have all of the materials, but not enough time. Just think of the memories you will leave behind for others to enjoy. We leave a legacy that can be retold again and again. If we only have pictures left behind, people won't even know who is in the picture. Keep scrapping!

I am glad you asked that. I thought I was the only one questioning that. I don't have quit 30 but getting there and trying to find where to put these bulky books. I know people say scrap only the best pics but I like them all (within reason), my kids are grown now but still enjoying the creativity. As crazy as this sounds I'm glad to have the confirmation that you can't have too many....lol

I don't think there is such a thing as too many scrapbooks. One idea might be to use scrapbooking software (Creative Memories Storybook Creator for example) to start creating scrapbooks digitally. Creative Memories also allows you to print a bound book of your digital scrapbook. So you still get the book but it's not near the same thickness but it's still 12x12.

[deleted account]

You can't put a number on scrapbooks. Just have an armoire or bookcase made just for your scrapbooks. My girlfriend had one made to fit a 12X12 album and uses the same color albums. It looks great. Mine are all over the house. No matter where a person goes, except a lavatory, my beautiful scrapbooks can be enjoyed!!

I have 6 years of pictures not even PRINTED because I know that I am not up to that year!! LOL!! I do have the same problem though, where to put them. Right now they are in the bottom of my closet (so how can people look at them??)
