I live in IN. If you have a space where you can leave all of your supplies out, that really helps because then you can work on your pages whenever you have a few free minutes. I like to do at least 1 page a day. Sometimes on the weekends when I know I can rest the following day I will stay up later than usual and do many pages. I'm a Creative Memories consultant, so I host and also attend many all day scrapbooking events.

Got lots of tips on this 1! I've been scrapbooking since before it was allowed to be a hobby. Have a spot to scrapbook that you don't have clean up. Then get a timer set it everyday at the same time for 15 minutes. Give yourself 15 minutes everyday no more no less and you will get more done in 15 minutes then if you had the entire day.

I have an 8 1/2 year old daughter and a 4 month old son. Time for scrapbooking is not there at present but I know I can pick it up later. I think that I will have to go out for a scrapbooking night once a month when my son is a bit older.
I found a cheap way of doing embellishments......I scan my childrens clothes ( a butterfly from daughters tee-shirt, a car from sons shorts etc)

I did a little project yesterday in about 30 min. I had some 6x6 pieces I had cut from a thick box and used pics I had taken of my grandson at my daddy's house. He has john deere tractors out in his shed which is full of old stuff. So i made the book to look old and scruffy. I had taken a pic of a metal john deere pic that was on his wall and used it for the cover. To make a long story short, I had a theme and a certain group of pics to use which made it easier. My suggestion is to have a place where you can leave a "work in progress" and stop by and add a little here and there. Time has always been an issue for me also so I understand. Also, forget about having to complete an album. Work on pages and you can even just haphazardly place them in an album and organize your albums later.

I hear ya! The only way for me to actually get any scrapping done is use Archiver's workspace. If I don't get away from home it'll never happen. Now that my 2 girls are 4 and 2 it's begun to be easier to leave once a month on a friday nite or saturday morning to scrap with a friend. I hate to have to leave the comfort of my own home since i have alot of my own tools and supplies but it's worth it!

Quoting Kimberly:

I completed the first scrapbook when my daughter was still in arms. Now that she is 15months and on the move I don't seem to have the time. I completed her christening scrap pages but am looking for the perfect album to put them in. I think a trip to Michaels or Jo-Ann fabrics may be in order. Scrapbooking is therapy for me and I need to make the time to bring the memories to life.

do you have a hobby lobby?? they have about 5 rows of aisles to go through just for scrapbooking, and i think we have one just for books to put them in, and you have the kits too....

I add everything to the computer and do some digital scrapbooking on line and print pages out while I'm on the computer. But for dragging everything out and working, It takes too much time withe a 18 m old daughter, but there will be one day, I might get to a little here and there. But good luck. Try little books, vacations or holidays, something that doesn't take as much time.

i do it when my twins goto bed, around 7pm, then i make sure to keep it picked up, and head to bed by 9pm... two hours at night is mommy time, and daddy takes over the chores of the house... sometimes i just goto bed early. lol... but i try to scrap atleast 4 nights out of the week since it is such a big job...

I have found that if you schedule a day with a friend and stick to that day you can get lots done. I picked a day with my friend and every week we do a page or two. It is like our mommy time and you both make each other do it.

I have done many projects as gifts for other people. However the last few years I had mostly been on a break because I didn't have the time or the space to get everything out and still get stuff done. By the time I got all my papers out for doing a page it was time to put it away and do other things.
This last year I really wanted to get a book done after my son was born. He is now 15 months and I have already completed his Birth - one year book. It was done by the time he was 13 months. My trick was to do it through Creative Memories. I tried doing books online but I didn't like that I had to stick with their lay outs. I'm a very creative person and I wanted to be able to express that in my pages for my son.
The best part is that I can order a book for him (later in life) that will be the exact same as the one I made and still have a copy for myself.
I would suggest Creative Memories Digital Story Book Creator. This is what I used and love. I'm still using it and loving it. It is very easy to use and the price is comparable to traditional scrapbooking. Plus with the digital you can submit it to Creative Memories and they send you a professionally bound book (hard or soft covers available).

Use the time you spend on facebook to scrap instead, even just one day makes a difference.

I find the time when my 4 year old goes to bed. It helps that I am a night owl and I have a designated space. It used to take me so long to drag everything out and put it all away I hardly had time to scrap!!

I'm not sure I've met a scrapbooker who doesn't have the same problem. I joined 2 scrapbooking clubs. Each one meets once a month. So even if I'm not scrapping on my own regulary, getting out to the clubs keeps me motivated and it's so much more fun than scrapping alone.

I found that if you just commit to doing 1 page, you will be sitting there and get the motivation to do a few more because you love scrapping.

I have the same problem! Before my daughter was born I had plenty of time to do it. Hope will be 1 in February and I don't have anything done. She keeps me very busy. I did tell my husband that I have to set time aside each week to do some because I miss it so much!

I used to say the same thing until I found digital scrapbooking. Have you tried digital scrapbooking? If not, it is truly awesome.

I have the same problem and am so behind on my scrapbooking! I keep meaning to scrap when my son is in school for 4 hours a day (3 days a week) but when I get home there is always something else to be done (i.e. uninterrrupted cleaning , watching a recorded TV show that I missed, grocery shopping free of distractions or spending quality time with the hubby). Then the expense...I seem to always be out of adhesive & cardstock in blues, reds & greens. If I do, it seems like I struggle with ideas and once I get my "groove" going...it's time to go pick up my son

Do it while the kids are asleep, in school, or make some "me time" i prefer to work on mine while the kiddos are asleep. Or we have craft time and they get out their colors and papers and i get out mine:P

I completely understand! I felt the same way, and I bought premade scrapbook pages since I still wanted my daughter to have a scrapbook... but we've gotten things together and now I make more time for it.. I even got inspired to help other moms who don't have the time or resources to make their own... I knew I wasn't the only one who felt they couldn't scrapbook anymore, so I made my own site. everydaymomdesigns.com I sell premade scrapbook pages now.. So, honestly I suggest making scrapbooking a priority or for now, while you can't scrapbook, buy some premade scrapbook pages so you don't fall too far behind and never scrapbook again!

Same here! I got my first child's done and re-done (because it got ruined) by the time he was 3...and I'm having a hard time finding the time to do my daughters and she is just about to turn 2! I just have to get the pictures developed and get to it! Hopefully I will have SOME time once Blake starts kindergarten!
